2026-2027 Scheduling Information: Curriculum Guide and Course Selection Sheets 2026-2027 Scheduling Information: Curriculum Guide and Course Selection Sheets

The high school has begun preparations for the 2026-2027 scheduling process. We have reviewed and updated our Course Curriculum Guide and Course Selection Sheets for the upcoming school year. This week and next week, we will be meeting will students in grades 9-11 to review these materials and begin the course selection process.

Please note that this process is starting 3 weeks earlier than last school year. The scheduling process is extensive and one of the most important steps in ensuring that students are enrolled in courses that align with their interests, goals, and academic readiness.

It is important that students are intentional when selecting both their courses and their alternate choices. The master schedule is built based on student requests, and for students who are not yet upperclassmen, choosing alternates that they are truly interested in taking is especially important.

The additional time built into this year's process allows families and students to thoroughly review course offerings, prerequisites, and course expectations. You know your student best, and students know how much time and effort they can realistically commit to their academics.

Students: Please ask your counselors, principals, and teachers questions about graduation requirements and courses that connect to your interests and future plans.

Parents/Guardians: We encourage you to have conversations with your student and to reach out to the school with any questions. We are here to support you throughout this important process.

National Honor Society Information National Honor Society Information

The Vicki S. Fennell Chapter of National Honor Society (NHS) at Lewisburg Area High School recognizes outstanding high school students for excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character, acting as more than just an honor roll to develop well-rounded individuals. Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.900 or greater are eligible to apply for membership. NHS seeks students who demonstrate strong character, significant involvement in leadership and activities since ninth grade, and a minimum of 20 hours of community service. Teachers who have had a candidate in class, study hall, clubs, or a team provide valuable input about a candidate’s character and leadership traits. Candidates are then evaluated by a five-person faculty council, appointed by the Principal each year, and are offered membership if all criteria are met.

Timeline:

  • Week of February 2nd - Eligible juniors and seniors who meet the scholarship criteria of 3.900 cumulative GPA are notified by Ms. Sands, NHS Advisor, by email.
  • Thursday, February 5th - An informational meeting will be held for all eligible students during flex (10:45 AM). Candidate Information Forms (applications) will be available in the Guidance Office for eligible students to pick up.
  • Friday, February 20th - Candidate Information Forms are due. These should be submitted to Ms. Sands in the Guidance Office.
  • Week of March 2nd - Students will receive a letter by US Mail, notifying them of the Faculty Council’s decision.
  • Tuesday, March 10th - NHS Induction Ceremony at 7:00 PM in the HS Auditorium.
