Meet the First Grade Team
Dear Parents,
Welcome First Grade! This year will be full of SO much learning and fun! Every month, we will be sharing a Smore Newsletter with you, similar to this one. The newsletter will keep you informed about topics pertaining to 1st Grade such as reminders, academic concepts for the month, staff/student holidays, and more.
We are so excited to be working with you and your child this 2026-2027 school year.

Module 2:
READING
Essential Question: What makes families and
communities special? Young children seek to discover their place in the world. They begin
their search by exploring how they fit within their family and their
local community. It is important that they feel a sense of belonging
to both.
WRITING: Focus on Complete sentences and Adjectives
This module describes communities as special places to live. It
explains how the people who live there, including family members,
