Our week in Pre-K

Week of November 6, 2023

Our week in Pre-K Week of November 6, 2023

This week was only 4 days, but we squeezed a lot in! On Monday, we went on a virtual walk (with the help of Google maps) to Whole Foods. We studied the different types of buildings we saw: schools, houses, offices, an observatory, stores, a church, a gas station, and grocery stores. We talked about the similarities and differences between buildings. We looked at different types of homes and learned that homes are places where people live. Some of the books from the Buildings unit that we read were: Buildings, Buildings, Buildings; A Chair For My Mother; and Busy Builders Busy Week. On Wednesday a dentist came. Students practiced brushing a puppet's teeth and then watched a puppet show! We talked about eating healthy foods, drinking lots of water, and brushing twice a day (with an adult's help). She then counted everyone's teeth in the nurse's office. Friday we joined the rest of the school for the Veteran's Day assembly. Steven stood up and honored his uncle. It was such a special time and the kids did great!

What a busy week! What a busy week!

Weekly Reminders

📆 Wednesday Nov 22nd is a half day

School is closed on November 23 and 24 for Thanksgiving 🦃

💅 We are getting a lot of scratches. If possible, please be mindful of cutting your child's nails; keeping them short and clean. We're a very hands-on classroom!

🎂 We have a few November birthdays! If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday, reach out to me. JC school policy dictates that food items are not allowed for birthday celebrations. Non-food items could be passed out. Students can have a guest reader come to read to the class as a special treat.
