CES Dog Library Serve Project

The CES Dog Team, also known as the Cahaba Encouragement Squad, completed their first rotation service project on Monday with a visit to the Trussville Public Library. Students jumped right in to support the library’s upcoming events by helping stuff race bags and preparing for the Halloween celebration. They carefully placed festive stickers on books, adding a fun and welcoming touch for future readers.

This service opportunity gave students a meaningful way to give back to the community while also enjoying time together. After their hard work, they had a chance to play and enjoy plenty of snacks. A big thank you goes to the Trussville Public Library for opening its doors to our students and giving them this experience. And to our CES Dog Team—thank you for your energy, kindness, and service!

Cahaba's Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day
zoom_out_map Show in original size

Cahaba Elementary kicked off the day with its beloved Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day, a tradition that brings students, families, and staff together in a fun and active way. Excitement filled the air as students made their way to school on foot, by bike, or by scooter, greeted with cheers and encouragement from the Mountain Bike Team. This special event celebrates community, healthy habits, and school spirit before the first bell rings.

A huge thank you goes to Coach Taylor and Coach Elders for their thoughtful planning and leadership, which make this tradition such a highlight each year. Parents also got to enjoy the morning thanks to the PTO, who arranged for a Tom Coffee Truck to be on site so families could recharge with a warm cup of coffee. It was truly a wonderful morning that showcased the strong sense of community at Cahaba Elementary.

Did you know that October is National Bullying Prevention Month?

Bullying is an aggressive behavior. It occurs when a child is targeted by one or more youth with repeated negative actions over a period of time. These are intentional attempts to cause discomfort or injury and can include name-calling, obscene gesturing, malicious teasing, exclusions, threat, rumors, physical hitting, kicking, pushing and choking. Cyberbullying is also a real and growing problem today. Make no mistake: Bullying of any kind is a form of violence that should not be tolerated.
