β° ATTENDANCE COMPLIANCE β NON-NEGOTIABLE
This week, we did not achieve 100% attendance submission compliance. Attendance windows and expectations have been communicated through multiple reminders, and submitting attendance on time is a required responsibility.
Effective immediately, any failure to submit attendance within the designated compliance window will result in an automatic DAN. Please set alarms, build this into your daily routine, and ensure attendance is submitted within 9:47-10AM. NOT EARLIER OR LATER.
UPDATE: ATTENDANCE INCENTIVES
Be sure to remind scholars and make these incentives visible in your classrooms to ensure we are able to boost our ADA!
Effective IMMEDIATELY, make sure to celebrate 100% of scholars present within the grade level for the WEEK not "Highest HR".
Reminder - these celebrations should be celebrated during Academic Block on Fridays and should not impact core class instruction.
GTLs, ensure to pick up your items delivered for ADA celebrations and reach out to APO if you need any supplies to fulfill the celebrations.
AMERICA'S SAFETY SCHOOL WEEK I OCT 19-23, 2026
π‘οΈ Americaβs Safe Schools Week
Americaβs Safe Schools Week is all about awareness, preparedness, and protecting our herd! Throughout the week, scholars, staff, and families will participate in activities that reinforce safety, reporting concerns, and emergency preparedness. Safe schools start with ALL of us! ππ
HELP OUR FACILITIES TEAM
Our Facilities Team is currently short-staffed, and we need everyoneβs partnership to keep our campus clean, safe, and ready for scholars each day.
Before leaving your classroom each day, please:
- π§Ή Sweep your classroom floor
- πͺ Stack all chairs
- 𧽠Wipe down desks and surfaces
- ποΈ Place trash outside your classroom for pickup
β οΈ SAFETY CHECK: REMOVE UNAPPROVED ITEMS
Please take a moment to check your classroom and remove items that are not approved for classroom use, including standing lamps, plug-in air fresheners, and other potential fire/electrical hazards.
The lamp pictured is an example of why this matters: a plastic ball has been placed directly over the light fixture, creating a serious potential fire hazard. Please do not modify lamps, lights, or electrical equipment in this way.
A clean and safe campus takes ALL of us. Thank you for helping our Facilities Team and protecting our herd! πππ
π SPOOKY GOOD EATS β CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM π»π
π CNP CRUSHED THE BOY SURVEY! πππ
HUGE SHOUTOUT to our CNP Team!
Brackenridge collected an incredible 982 BOY CNP Survey responsesβthe HIGHEST in the entire district! π€―π No other campus even reached 600 responses! That is a huge lead over every other campus.
Way to engage our families, push with urgency, and represent Longhorn Nation! ππ
National School Lunch Week is COMING UP!
Dates: October 13-16
Get ready, Longhorn Nation β National School Lunch Week is coming, and CNP is bringing the FUN!
π Scholars can look forward to a week filled with special meals, games, activities, movies, prizes, and plenty of surprises as we celebrate our CNP team and the importance of school lunch! ππ
π£ GTL ACTION REQUIRED: All GTLs must ensure the National School Lunch Week presentation is presented to 100% of scholars BEFORE 10/7 EOD. This is our opportunity to get scholars HYPED, informed, and ready to participate!
β¨ Our goal: Scholars should know what National School Lunch Week is, what fun is coming, and why they don't want to miss a single day!
πͺ Present it. Hype it up. Build the excitement. Letβs make National School Lunch Week a BIG deal at Brackenridge! ππ₯³

π¬ Attendance Is A Treatβ Absences Are A Trick! π
Every Day. Every Scholar. Every Minute Counts.
YEAR-LONG ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE PLAN
Weβre keeping the attendance celebrations going ALL YEAR LONG! Our goal is to create consistent excitement around showing up every day while recognizing scholars who meet their attendance goals.
DATA OVERVIEW & ACTION STEPS
In this section, you will find YTD ADA & CA for each grade level and benchmarks to ensure you are on track to meet this goal before EOY.
Additionally, you will find the list of scholars who are at risk of Chronic Absenteeism.
Next Steps for Chronic Absentee kids listed below:
- HR Teachers- Contact parent at 2 absences and identify how to prevent further absences.
- GTLs- Contact parent at 3 absences and let them know they are at risk and identify how to support them through any barriers impacting the student's attendance.
- APIs- Contact family at 5 absences for a meeting. Students may be at risk of not joining field lessons or could lose credit for the course (8th grade and up).
Attendance Expectations- College Prep
Attendance Taking Expectations for CP
Team, I am restamping our non-negotiable attendance-taking expectations. Attendance must be submitted on time for EVERY attendance-taking period. Please set recurring alarms on your phone/computer to ensure deadlines are not missed.
6th/7th Deadlines: HR β 7:50 AM | P1 β 8:03 AM | P2 β 9:23 AM | OATP β 9:47 AM | P3 β 10:43 AM | P4 β 12:03 PM | P5 β LUNCH | P6 β 1:15 PM | P7 β 2:35 PM
8th Grade: HR 7:50 AM | P1 8:03 AM | P2 9:06 AM | OATP 9:47 AM | P3 10:09 AM | P4 11:12 AM | P5 Lunch | P6 12:48 PM | P7 1:51 PM | P8 2:54 PM.
Accurate and timely attendance is a critical part of our responsibility to maintain student safety, accurate records, and ADA compliance. Failure to submit attendance by the required deadlines moving forward will result in progressive discipline.
Please set your alarms today and build this into your daily routine. Thank you for ensuring this expectation is met consistently.
Period by period attendance is TEA required and will be taken the first 2 minutes of class
- DO NOT take attendance before 9:47, it will be considered OUT OF COMPLIANCE by TEA standards.
- Submitting OATP AFTER 10:00AM is OUT OF COMPLIANCE by TEA standards.
*If you incorrectly mark a student absent, you MUST send me an email and CC Jacquelin Garcia. The email must be as follows: COPY and PASTE THIS

- Current ADA = Current grade level % for the year.
