Peterson's Message- K3 Director

Greetings MCP3 Team!

Classroom RAPS have become habituated by many of our scholars and it is definitely due to our clarity, consistency, and positive reinforcement to scholars meeting the expectation. Even though we are in heading into the 5th week of school- we still have new friends that have only been with us for a few days and ALL of our scholars are still building these RAPS as habits....so be sure to continue to name what to do and show them how with your routines.

With all the Love and Respect,

Peterson

Prevent Blindness Vision Screening

Did you know that approximately 1 in 5 preschool-age children in the U.S., including preschool-age Head Start children, has a vision disorder that requires monitoring and/or treatment by an eye doctor?

Prevent Blindness Wisconsin works in cooperation with public health nurses, school nurses, healthcare staff, students, volunteers, childcare providers, Wisconsin Lion/Lioness, and Head Start personnel to provide free vision screenings across the state. Prevent Blindness Wisconsin develops and maintains enhanced children’s vision screening follow-up resources to ensure children with vision problems are able to get the vision care they need and deserve.

There is no cost to families for vision screening services. Services are provided at all 4 campuses and K3, K4, K5, 1st, 3rd, 5th scholars can be screened. Other grade levels may be screened if there

is a concern.

Staff will be updated to the process for having this screening done including where and when on Thursday 9/24th.

ClassDojo

We want to ensure we have 100% of families connected on Dojo! Here is where we are currently at:

  • Panthers- 95%
  • Tigers- 100%
  • Antelopes- 89%
  • Bulldogs- 100%
  • Golden Eagles- 100%

**Be sure to edit your class if you have scholars that are unenrolled and add students to your class when you get new scholars!

Keep up the great positive highlight posting on your class stories! Shout out to Patterson, Clayton, and Blevins for posting daily the week of 9/14! The post captions are fun to read and the videos/photos really capture the incredible learning experiences taking place in your classrooms!

**Shout out to Harrell for sharing about the special "sidekick" feature to support with caption writing. Be sure to connect with her if you don't know what this is!

**Friday means it is time for your classroom dojo incentive! Scholars should be rewarded for their good behavior from the week. Remember- not everybody gets a cookie. So if scholars have not earned the prizes/incentives that's ok. They can try again next week. Be specific with which classroom expectation and rule they need to work on. If you need support with setting up your classroom dojo incentive please reach out!

Harvell & Tigers

Shout out to Ms. Harvell for engaging the Tigers during small groups in creating shape collages. They worked hard on learning how to identify their shapes and create their own picture using the shapes.

Field Trips🚌

All classrooms need to have their Quarter 1 Field Trips scheduled by 9/18. This will allow adequate time for ordering busses as needed. Quarter 1 Field Trips should be scheduled to happen before the end of the Quarter.

**Make sure to reference the MCP calendar when scheduling field trips.

**Classrooms may wish to buddy up with other rooms for Field Trips.

**Once Field Trip is scheduled- staff should fill out the Field Trip form on the MCP Launch Page.

**Classrooms have a $2,600 budget for the year for Field Trips.
