A Peek Into Our Week

Wow, it is incredible how time flies, next week is the end of our second month already. Every few weeks I like to post some pictures of what students have been doing in classes. Hopefully you can ask your kids about these activities and it will jump-start some nice conversations about school. This week there are pictures of 6th graders in Science class during their Microscope Lab. Next, we have 7th graders in Math class working on their probability fair projects. Finally, we have our 8th graders in Mr. Jewell's Tech Ed. class learning about the effects of tectonic forces on architecture.

Halloween Fun Guidelines

Although Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, we are keeping a favorite IMS tradition alive and celebrating at school on Friday, October 30th!

Middle school is a time when students are navigating where they fit in, which is why Halloween is such a wonderful opportunity for them to step out, express their individuality, and showcase their creativity in a fun, supportive environment. Dressing up is completely optional—there is zero pressure to participate—but many students and staff look forward to joining in the fun.

For students who choose to wear a costume, please ensure it aligns with our school guidelines to keep the day safe, comfortable, and inclusive for everyone:

  • Keep it peaceful: No weapons, violent themes, or gory elements.

  • Keep it school-appropriate: Avoid sexualized or risqué costumes.

  • Keep faces identifiable: no masks that make it hard to see or tell who you are.

  • Prep at home: All hair dye and face paint must be applied before coming to school.

Thank you for taking a moment to review these expectations with your child. We look forward to a high-spirit day celebrating our students' creativity!
