Staff Spotlight
Meet Mrs. Adly, Autism Teacher Assistant
With 15 years of experience in education and now in her second year at Tyler, Manal brings heart, dedication, and joy to the classroom every day. Her favorite part of the job is witnessing the small but powerful successes our students achieve—whether it's mastering a new skill, expressing themselves with words, or simply smiling and feeling at ease. These moments are a daily reminder of why she loves being part of our learning community.
Outside of school, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and taking relaxing walks. She’s also a fan of all kinds of food—especially anything sweet! For inspiration and reflection, she listens to podcasts focused on positivity and personal growth.

Social Work Corner: Resources & Updates
Dear Tyler Families,
As we approach the holiday season, we recognize that this time of year can bring both joy and stress, especially for families experiencing financial hardship. If your family is in need of support for Thanksgiving or the December holidays, we would like to coordinate assistance for families who may benefit from food, clothing, gifts, or other holiday-related support. Here are a few resources to help:
- *Aldi has a full spread for 10 with the Thanksgiving favorites they love – including the turkey and ingredients for nine crowd-pleasing sides, for only $40. Shoppers can build their ALDI Thanksgiving feast by heading to their local ALDI store, ordering online for curbside pickup or placing an order through grocery delivery beginning October 15 through December 24****Additional information can be found at: Feast for 10 | ALDI US
- Mobile Hope: Drive-Thru Food Distribution: Will host a drive-thru food distribution for furloughed federal workers every Monday and Friday until further notice starting November 3, 2pm at 302 Parker Court, SE, Leesburg. News
November is Diabetes Awareness Month: Let’s Raise Awareness Together
November is Diabetes Awareness Month, a time to come together to raise awareness, support those affected, and promote healthy habits that can help prevent and manage diabetes.
Diabetes is a chronic condition impacting millions, and awareness is key to prevention and management. This month, we encourage everyone to:
- Know your risk: Understand your family history, lifestyle, and health indicators.
- Make healthy choices: Eat balanced meals and stay active.
- Get regular check-ups: Early detection can make a big difference
- Be understanding if they need to check their blood sugar or take medication during the day.
- Encourage healthy food choices and inclusive activities.
- Learn the signs of low or high blood sugar and know when to get help.
- Respect their privacy and offer support with kindness and empathy.
- Help create a safe and supportive environment at school and at home.

Friendly Reminders!
Don't Forget Your Identification!
Per PWCS regulations, all parents, guardians, and visitors must bring a government-issued ID when visiting. Even if our staff knows you, please remember to bring and wear your school ID every day.
This policy ensures the safety and security of our students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation. Pictures of photo ID are not accepted.
Reporting Absences, Dismissal Changes, etc.
As always, if your child must be absent from school, please report the absence in one of the following ways:
- ParentVue
- By phone 703-754-7181
- By email tyes-frontoffice@pwcs.edu
You may use the above to also report dismissal changes, or ask any questions!
Early Dismissals: To help ensure a safe and smooth dismissal process, we kindly ask families to avoid picking up students early unless absolutely necessary. Early dismissals not only disrupt your child’s learning but also add to the end-of-day confusion, making it harder for staff to manage transitions and ensure all students get home safely. The cut-off time for early dismissals is 2:55pm. Anyone arriving after 2:55pm will need to park in the parking lot and wait until 3:25.
Thank you for supporting a calm and organized dismissal for everyone!

Take Charge of Your Child’s Reading – Parent Library Access
Parent Access to Library Materials
Last fall, we introduced the Library Additional User Type for parents. This tool allows you to view your child’s checked-out books and set preferences for library materials.
👉 Visit the Parent Library Controls webpage to get started.
📌 Please note: While schools will make every effort to honor your preferences, it’s important to talk with your child about any restrictions you set. School staff can share the link but cannot provide technical support within the system.
Reading Skills!
Want to help boost your child's literacy skills at home? Check out the link below for a variety of family-friendly resources from the Virginia Literacy Partnerships website—perfect for supporting reading and learning together.
School Status
PWCS staff members utilize School Status as the primary way to communicate with families. You will see this image at the bottom of email communications. We are learning that these messages may be going to 'junk mail' for some of our families. Please check your 'junk mail' folder for these message. Additionally, we are able to make phone calls using School Status which will appear to come from a new phone number (area code may be 804).
