Hello Ecole Maple Families,

Welcome back everyone!

First things first. Due to last week's Bus Cancellations, we will have our Pizza Day tomorrow on Monday, February 3rd.

We are looking forward to having our Equity Team in for educational sessions and presentations with each of our divisions separately, as well as connecting with staff. It is so important that we continue to educate our students and staff on appropriate language and action, and ensuring EVERYONE feels safe and welcome to come and learn and grow at Maple, and the Kingston community!

Term 1 report cards are coming home on Friday February 14th! We look forward to sharing all the learning and hard work each of our students have shown at Maple with our families.

Family Day Monday is February 17th, and there will be no school! Please take the time together to connect and enjoy each other's company, appreciate those special moments together, and engage in some fun activities!

Looking forward to an amazing February!

Welome to our New Principal Ms. Curry-Sharples

Hello Maple Families,

As we begin Term 2, we are very excited to share that we have a new long-term Principal coming to Maple. On Monday February 3rd, we are very happy to welcome Michelle Curry-Sharples.

Ms. Curry-Sharples is returning home to her Kingston roots after many years in the Peel District School Board. She has worked as an administrator for over a decade in schools with similar demographic and population. She will surely be a great asset to the already amazing team in place.

Letter from the Terry Fox Foundation to Maple

Hello Team Maple,

We wanted to reach out from the Terry Fox Foundation as the results are in for the Terry Fox School Run. We see that your school joined us and raised $16,974.00!

We just wanted to say thank you so much and congratulations!

Your entire community should be so proud of your achievement. I hope it was an enjoyable event for you and everyone involved. Your school certainly set an incredible example this year and thank you for all your hard work!

We look forward to working with you again. In fact, next year is our big 45th Anniversary year and we can’t wait to go the extra mile and honour Terry during this special milestone.

You’ll be hearing from us in April to get your toolkit materials ordered so that we can ship them to you in early September.

Thank you again and take care!

Sincerely,

Caitlin O’Brien

SchoolMessenger App

Why Use the SchoolMessenger App?

When you join SchoolMessenger, you will be able to:

  • receive imporant information from LDSB
  • join classrooms and extra-curricular groups
  • report a student's absence (same day and in advance)

Reporting A Student's Absence:

The new student absence reporting system will let you use a mobile app, a website, or an interactive toll-free phone number to report an absence in advance. These options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.

If your student is marked absent and the absence hasn’t been reported in advance, our new SafeArrival system will attempt to reach the student’s priority contact by telephone to confirm the absence. If our system is unable to reach the designated contacts, school office staff will follow up.
