Mrs. Stark's Message Mrs. Stark's Message

Hello Maple Families,

It was our first full week, and the kids did great! Thank you for establishing those bedtime routines! They learn a lot during the day and consistency with bedtimes is extremely important for school success. I heard so many tell me how tired they were. Learning takes a lot of brain power!

We are already setting goals and reaching them! When students reach a goal, the celebrate by ringing the bell in our Bravo Booth.

There is no school on Monday due to Labor Day. Enjoy this three day weekend with friends and family!

I have had a few parent questions about lunch. If students pack a lunch, but would also like a hot lunch, they just need to order that hot lunch from their teacher that morning and grab that lunch before sitting down to eat their packed lunch. This will also allow them to have the salad bar. If students pack their lunch and would like a milk, the cost is 55 cents. They also are not able to go to the salad bar if they have a packed lunch.

Looking ahead to next week, we will begin our fall benchmark testing. This data indicates for us who needs some extra learning support. At our parent/teacher conferences in October, teachers will share some of these results with you and explain what type of intervention or enrichment support they are receiving.

I am loving my first month as the principal of Maple. The students, staff, and parents have been so welcoming. It is so great to be HOME!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs. Stark

Arrival & Dismissal Arrival & Dismissal

Please remember that students may not enter the building until 7:55. There is no supervision until that time. The only students that may enter prior to 7:55 are those that are registered for and attend before school care.

Our dismissal has been going well! Thank you for following the staff directions to ensure that all students get on busses and to the cars safely. PLEASE BE SURE TO DRIVE SLOWLY and be alert anywhere in our parking lot. There are a lot of children moving to different locations.

Cars are not permitted to go to the back parking lot at arrival and dismissal until the staff let's them in at the entrance. This is for everyone's safety.

If you have an after school meeting with the teacher, or need to come into the building for any reason, please remain in your car in the parking lot until after dismissal is over and the doors are closed. Then, you can ring the bell and we can buzz you in. For safety reasons, we do not allow people in the building while we have students moving around.

Kindness Tree Kindness Tree

Our Kindness Tree is filling up! As students are caught "being kind" they are adding leaves to our tree. We are encouraging compassion, acceptance of differences, and going out of your way to lift someone up.

Maple Expectations Maple Expectations

When we teach expectations at school, we always give a reason for the expectation. For example- We are quiet in the hallways because it is a learning zone. When students know why they are doing something, it helps them make sense of their environment. This will work at home too- "I need you to help clear the table so that we will all have more time to play a game together... or watch our favorite show."

ParentSquare is a communication tool to stay connected to what is going on in your child's classroom and the school. Sometimes, we have last minute information to share. Although we will still send out weekly newsletters, connecting to Parent Square will allow you to communicate with your child's teacher easier and receive important reminders from the school.

Previously, many teachers used "Remind". Parent Square bought Remind. This app works very similar to Remind.

What do we need from you? We need you to download the free app. Please see the directions below to get connected!
