🏥 Health Suite Reminders

💊 Medications at School

  • Students may not bring any medications (including cough drops or cough syrup) to school.
  • If your child has a health condition (such as asthma or severe allergies) that requires medication during the school day:
✅ Ask your doctor for a school medication order.
✅ Provide the medication to the Health Suite so it’s available if needed.

💉 Flu Season is Here

  • Protect your family by getting your annual flu shot.
  • Vaccines help prevent illness, keep students in school, and protect our community.

🤒 Illness & Injuries During the Day

  • If your child becomes sick or injured at school, they may need to go home.
  • Please make sure you have a back-up plan for pick-up if you are at work or unavailable.

🖐️👣 Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD)

  • HFMD has been circulating in our community this summer and fall.
  • Common symptoms include:
    • Fever
    • Sore throat
    • Rash or blisters on hands, feet, or mouth
  • People infected with HFMD often develop tiny blisters in the mouth, on the palms of the hands, and on the bottoms of the feet. These usually last 7–10 days.
  • Most people have mild symptoms, but some may develop a fever.
  • HFMD is most common in young children and is easily spread through saliva, feces, and the fluid from broken blisters.
  • People are most contagious early in the illness, but in some cases can spread the virus for several weeks.
  • Fortunately, HFMD is usually mild. Children may attend school unless:
    • They have a fever of 100ºF or greater (must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication).
    • They are drooling, have uncontrollable hand-to-mouth behaviors, or have draining sores that cannot be covered.
  • To reduce the spread, families and staff should:
✅ Wash hands often with soap and water, especially after bathroom use, diaper changes, or before eating.
✅ Wash contaminated objects and surfaces with soapy water.
    ✅ Cover coughs and sneezes.
✅ Keep children home and consult a healthcare provider if they develop fever (100ºF+), unexplained blisters, or other concerning symptoms.

💚 Thank you for helping us keep all students safe and healthy this school year!

Parent Teacher Organization Parent Teacher Organization

We’re excited to share that Cedarmere Elementary School has officially launched a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)! Our first meeting took place this past Wednesday and was a great success—thank you to all who attended and contributed to the conversation.

We understand that life is busy—between work, family, and extracurriculars, time is limited. But now, more than ever, we need your support. Together, we can build a stronger school community and create enriching experiences for our children.

Unlike a PTA, a PTO offers greater flexibility with fewer restrictions, allowing us to focus more directly on the unique needs of Cedarmere.

Let’s work together to make a difference for our kids, our school, and our community.

We also just launched our spirit wear fundraiser! All orders will ship directly to the home and proceeds benefit programs for our school. https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/?fbclid=IwY2xjawMkO2hleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHnZNnJpBRQStkp9rycFaCSndW-_d_S02svYOccWzbB6QNNwMEVPZEb3ddfC7_aem_k2LjMpdecVZUOz2bcHR6DQ#/lockers/cedarmere-elementary-2653239

In case your child needs to be absent, kindly provide a note—whether handwritten or through email. Submitting written documentation helps us keep accurate records. Remember, not all absences are considered lawful. Let's make every school day count!

Our current percentage for our school is 94%!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!
