Dear Washington Elementary Families,

We hope your summer has been filled with sunshine, laughter, and unforgettable memories! As we count down the days to the new school year, we’re beyond excited to welcome our amazing students back on August 25th. The halls of Washington Elementary are ready to come alive again—with curiosity, joy, and a whole lot of learning!

This year, just like every year, our mission remains strong: to provide the right support and instruction for every student while creating an inclusive, respectful, and engaging environment where all learners can thrive. Our dedicated Washington team is ready to inspire and be inspired by your incredible children.

We can’t wait to get to know you and your child better as we partner together for a successful school year. Remember—our doors and inboxes are always open. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, ideas, or ways we can support your child’s success.

Welcome back staff, students and families!

We're excited to begin the 25-26 school year with you all.

The first day of school for 1st-5th grade students is Monday, 8/25.
The first day of school for kinder students is in your Welcome Back letter.

We are proud to support and familiarize our new kindergarten students through the Kinder JumpStart program. This year, the Kinder JumpStart program runs for one week, from August 11th to 15th. We offer breakfast and lunch every day. If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to call our office at 971-983-3050.

In order for our kindergarten students to have a strong start to the year, we start kinder students in small groups, with 1/3 of the class coming on Monday, 1/3 of the class coming on Tuesday, and so on. After one small group day, all kinder students come to school together for the first time on Thursday, August 28th. If you have a kindergarten student registered at Washington and you didn't receive your welcome back letter, please call the school office at 971-983-3050 during regular office hours (7:30-3:30).

Our daily schedule is as follows, Monday through Friday:

7:20 School is open for supervision
7:55 Class begins
2:20 Students are dismissed

Monday, 8/25 - First day of school for all 1st-5th; staggered start for kinder begins (group 1)
Tuesday, 8/26 - Staggered start for kinder continues (group 2)
Wednesday, 8/27 - Staggered start for kinder continues (group 3)
Thursday, 8/28 - First day that all kinder students are present
Thursday, 8/28 - Back to school night/Open house
Monday, 9/1 Labor Day - School is closed
