AUGUST 2026 AUGUST 2026

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

Dear A.W. Jones Elementary Families and Community,

The start of a brand-new school year is just around the corner, and we are excited to welcome our Eagles back on Wednesday, August 12, 2026!

Throughout the summer, our staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, planning engaging learning experiences, and ensuring that every space is ready to welcome students on the first day. We are looking forward to another year filled with learning, growth, meaningful relationships, and unforgettable moments.

We hope you'll join us for Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 7. This special event is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, explore the classroom, drop off school supplies, and help your child feel confident and excited for the first day of school. Additional details will be shared as the event approaches.

As we prepare for an amazing school year, we encourage families to:

  • Verify that your contact information is current.

  • Watch for important back-to-school communications, including arrival and dismissal procedures.

  • Follow our campus social media pages for updates, celebrations, and reminders.

  • Begin reestablishing school routines by adjusting bedtimes, practicing morning routines, and talking with your child about the excitement of a new school year.

At A.W. Jones Elementary, we know that strong partnerships between school and home are the foundation of student success. Thank you for trusting us with your children each day. It is a privilege to serve your family, and we are excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and achievement together.

We can't wait to welcome our Eagles back on Wednesday, August 12, for what is sure to be an outstanding 2026–2027 school year.

See you soon, Eagles!

With gratitude,
Dr. Darnisha Harvey

Principal, Jones Elementary
