Everything You Need to Begin Your Journey
Bus times are estimates and may vary slightly due to traffic, weather, or transportation conditions.
Before your first ride, confirm:
β Pickup/Departure Schedule
β Bus Route
β Stop Location
β Scheduled Stop Time
For the best mobile experience: Open the transportation map in your web browser or Google Maps. Choose only the schedule layer you need and tap a marker nearest to your home to view the stop details.
Arrive Early
Pickup Riders
Please be at your designated stop at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Arriving early helps ensure you are ready and waiting when the bus arrives and helps keep transportation running on schedule.
Example: Map shows 7:59 AM β Be at your stop by 7:44 AM.
Have your belongings ready, remain in a safe location near your designated stop, and do not wait until the scheduled time to arrive, as bus arrival times may vary slightly due to traffic and transportation conditions.
Stay Connected with SMART Tag
Download the SMART Tag Parent App to stay connected to your studentβs bus transportation. SMART Tag is designed to help improve the safety and security of student riders while giving families access to bus route information, arrival notifications, transportation updates, and student ridership activityβincluding when and where a student boards or exits the bus.
Students should tap their Katy ISD ID/SMART Tag when boarding and exiting the bus. Each tap helps verify that the student boarded the correct route and exited at the correct stop. When available, SMART Locate also allows registered parents/guardians to view their studentβs bus location and follow its progress toward their stop.
Student information is not stored on the ID card. The card uses a passive RFID chip containing only a unique identification number, with student information accessible only to authorized district personnel and registered guardians.
New to SMART Tag? Watch the step-by-step Parent App tutorial below, then download the app and register to stay informed throughout your studentβs ride.
