Due to the timing of COVID restrictions being lifted and the limited time to plan as a result, we are going to do a modified Field Day this year. Students will have a morning or afternoon field day time slot to complete field day stations/games ran by small committee of PTO parents. When students are not participating at stations, they will have a dance time in the gym and an inflatables time in the Field House. Please know that we have every intention of getting things back to normal for the 2022-23 school year and ask for your understanding with the limited number of volunteers this year.

Another note...Field Day T-shirt order forms went home Monday and are due this Friday, May 6th. We will not be able to honor any late submissions.

Please make sure all outstanding textbook, childcare and preschool fees are paid in full by May 25, 2022. Any balance not paid in full will be submitted to our collection service. Please call the office or email tbuckel@nwshelbyschools.org if you have any questions.

As presented at the March School Board meeting, the current cost of operation of our TCES Childcare program is approx. $77,000 a school year. The program brings in approximately $55,800, which puts the program in the deficit. To date, the district has been able to provide supplement funding to cover this underage. Those funds will end in 2024. With additional systemic changes that need to made for staffing concerns, it was determined to be the best time to also address financial concerns. • Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6- The PTO is providing our amazing teachers and staff lunch from Qdoba this week! See the attached flyer for some suggestions to spoil our teachers this week 
• TCES Shelter Update- Thank-you for your patience as we waited for the school district to build the shelter. Materials are arriving and the building will start soon!!
• TCES 2 ND Annual Read-A-Thon- May 2-13, 2022. Reading goal is 150,000 minutes & Fundraising goal is $10,000. • 4th Grade Luau is back!- Friday, May 4 th from 4:00 – 5:30 in the elementary gym. There will be food, games, a photo booth, and DJ Justin Watson! • Magic Show Spectacular- This event was a great success! Thanks to all who attended the show. We can’t to do this again next year!

All incoming Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2022 and are required to have all state required immunizations before school begins.

This year, we will be hosting Kindergarten Round-up over four separate evenings; April 11 & 12 and May 16 & 17 from 5:00-7:00 PM. ALL incoming kindergarten students, including TCES Preschoolers going to Kindergarten next year, need to sign up for Kindergarten Round-up using the link below. During Kindergarten Round-up your child will complete a Kindergarten readiness assessment with a TCE teacher, have the opportunity to check out the school, and take a tour of a school bus.

WHAT: Free developmental screenings for children.

WHY: If you suspect delays in speech, readiness, motor skills, or other areas of development in your preschooler, early intervention is the best strategy to remediate these delays before kindergarten.
