HV Update 3-13-26
A message from your principal, Mrs. Stager
That taste of spring this week was amazing! It was great to finally see grass again. It was a busy week of learning here at HV and students enjoyed the Brainy Tales assembly, where they learned how the different parts of the brain work together.
Second trimester report cards are available for viewing in Realtime.
Have a great weekend and we'll see you back at HV on Monday!
Best,
Allison

Annual Spelling Bee
Hillview will be hosting the 2026 Spelling Bee on the morning of Monday, March 30th. During the week of March 9th-13th, Grades 3, 4, and 5 teachers will hold their class spelling bees. A list of sample study words is included below. While not an exhaustive list, it gives an idea of the types of words that will be in the Spelling Bee Contest. The top two spellers in each of the third, fourth, and fifth grade classes will advance to the School Spelling Bee on March 30th. If your child has been selected as a finalist, you will be notified about attending the schoolwide event. Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Sullivan, the Spelling Bee Committee Chair, at kathryn.sullivan@pequannock.org. Happy Spelling!
Sussex County Miners
The Sussex County Miners are proud to partner with our school and over sixty others to encourage strong reading and study habits. Students who read an average of 100 minutes per week for any three-week period in March or April (about 20 minutes per day, five days per week, outside of school) will earn two free tickets to a Miners game at Skylands Stadium. A special summer weeknight game will celebrate participating schools and reunite students, faculty, and staff. To participate, a parent or guardian must complete this form.
