WHS Parent Update
October 14, 2022
Principal Update
Greetings Gosling Families!
It has been a great week at WHS! On Tuesday, freshman students enjoyed some time outside as a reward for having the highest attendance rate for the month of September! There is a strong correlation between student attendance and academic success. We encourage all parents and guardians to carefully monitor your student's attendance and reach out to one of the WHS Associate Principals, Jennifer Bault (baultj@watertown.k12.wi.us) or Jennifer Pennington (penningtonj@watertown.k12.wi.us), if we can be of any assistance in supporting your student's attendance at school.
Have a great weekend!
Josh Kerr, Principal
Watertown High School
Parent Teacher Conferences
WHS will be holding in-person parent teacher conferences on Thursday, October 20 from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Parents must register via Skyward for a 10 minute time slot for a conference. Virtual conferences are available if needed, but please register for a time slot and then contact the teacher to arrange the virtual conference. As always, WHS families are welcome to communicate with WHS teachers at any time to discuss process in their student's courses. Please register for conference by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19.
Speak Up, Speak Out Campaign
WHS students will be participating in a presentation during Homeroom on Wednesday, October 19th to learn about the Speak Up, Speak Out campaign. See the attached letter for details. Speak Up, Speak Out is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Justice and is a free, confidential tip line that students, staff, parents, and community members can use to confidentially submit a school safety concern or threat.
Class of 2023 Senior Updates
Senior yearbook photos will need to be uploaded directly to the Herff-Jones website: www.hjeshare.com and the school code is 825. The senior photo should be a headshot with no hands in the photo. The deadline to upload your senior picture is Friday, November 4, 2022. Hard copy photos and emailed senior photos will not be accepted.
On Monday, October 31, senior students will be attending a brief presentation from Jostens regarding ordering graduation caps, gowns, and other items. Jostens will return on Friday, November 4 to take student orders.
If students miss the November 4 deadline, orders will need to be placed online or mailed to the Jostens representative.

WHS Media Center
Has your student checked out the Media Center yet?
The librarians are friends, who love to lend,
So, see if there’s a book that they can recommend.
Read that book, and if you’re bitten
You can borrow all the other ones the author’s written.
There are students revising, deep in concentration,
A classroom doing projects, finding inspiration.
Over in the corner there’s a shelf of games, puzzles, and more.
Flip through a magazine and find information galore.
Yes, come to the Media Center!
Come to meet a study mate. Come check out a Chromebook.
Come browse. Come borrow!
We’ll see you today and hopefully tomorrow!
