Message From Interim Superintendent Dr. Khalid Sutton
Greetings, CUSD Families!
November begins next week, which means we're quickly approaching the end of the first marking period on Friday, November 6. I really encourage families to check in with their scholars and teachers about academic progress, missing assignments, and any opportunities to improve grades (if needed) before the marking period closes.
Families can also monitor their scholars' grades and academic progress through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
- CUSD PowerSchool Parent Sign In Portal
- Step-by-Step Instructions, including video on how to create an account and download the mobile app
As a reminder, there will be no school for scholars next Tuesday, November 3, as our staff participates in a scheduled professional development day.
Lastly, I want to follow up on an important health and safety message shared with families last week.
With measles cases being reported across Pennsylvania and in nearby communities, we are continuing to take proactive steps to protect our scholars and staff. Measles is highly contagious, and maintaining accurate vaccination records helps us respond quickly to potential exposures and minimize disruptions to learning.
Families who have not yet submitted proof of their scholar's MMR vaccinations are still encouraged to do so. Records can be emailed directly to your scholar's school nurse or dropped off at their school during regular school hours.
For your convenience, school nurse contact information is provided below:

Looking Back at Homecoming 2026
Nearly two weeks later, we're still celebrating the excitement of Homecoming 2026!
The festivities brought together students, families, staff, alumni, and community members for a day filled with #CPride. From a special breakfast honoring our student-athletes and their families to the tailgate festivities and football game, it was a wonderful celebration of our school community.
Congratulations to our Homecoming Court and our student-athletes, who added another victory to their impressive season!
As of this week, the Clippers are 9-0 and on their way to an undefeated regular season! We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and continued success.
A special thank you to our staff, coaches, volunteers, alumni, families, and everyone who helped make Homecoming 2026 a memorable celebration.
CUSD Drumline Takes the Stage at PSBA Conference
Our High School Marching Band's drumline, which includes scholars from Chester High School and STEM Academy, represented CUSD last week with a special performance at the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) Conference in the Poconos!
Performing before more than 60 vendors and school board directors, our talented student-musicians had an opportunity to showcase their skills and share a little #CPride with attendees from across the state.
Congratulations to our student-performers on a job well done! A special thank you to Dr. Rod Bradley, and our music teachers districtwide for strengthening and expanding music education throughout the district.
Way to represent, Clippers!
