📰 Time for Kids Magazine Subscriptions Are Coming!
Get ready for some exciting new reading material in your classrooms! We're thrilled to announce that our school has purchased a seven issue series of Time for Kids magazines this school year. These high-quality, engaging non-fiction magazines are a fantastic resource for connecting students with current events and enriching their literacy skills across all grade levels.
A big shout-out goes to Sam Munroe! Sam brought a parent's request for this type of resource to my attention, and thanks to that input, we were able to secure this subscription for all of our students.
This purchase was made possible thanks to the incredible success of our recent book fair. A portion of the proceeds from the fair allowed us to secure this subscription for all students. Thank you to everyone who supported the event!
We'll share a distribution schedule soon!

💽 LRC Book Break Highlights!
Linda Sue Park
Aaron Reynolds
Our students had two fantastic opportunities to engage with celebrated authors during recent Book Breaks in the LRC!
Our 5th Grade classes attended a captivating virtual Book Break with award-winning author Linda Sue Park. They learned about her writing process and had the chance to connect with the author of A Long Walk to Water and many other wonderful books.
Following that, our 3rd Graders joined a lively virtual session with author Aaron Reynolds, known for hilarious books like Creepy Carrots! and Carnivores. The students loved hearing his stories and getting an insider's look at how his creative ideas come to life.
These virtual events are a great way to inspire our young readers and writers. Thank you to the 5th and 3rd grade teachers for collaborating with the LRC to make these special experiences possible!

Tech Tidbits and Information
Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips
Here's a how-to slideshow with some basic troubleshooting tips for chromebooks. It includes information on how to fix a sideways screen, clearing your cache and turning off accessibility mode.
Vivi Updates - Extended Screen
For those who wanted to extend their desktops instead of mirror your screen you now can! Using the desktop vivi app you can set up multiple screens. Here's a quick how-to from microsoft or please reach out to Kristine to help!
YouTube Update
Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. But fear not! there is a workaround.
If you want to continue to use YouTube videos and have students access them you can embed them in google slides. If you have any questions about how to embed videos in your slides please reach out to Kristine. :)
Daily Sub Tech Capabilities
New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.
They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.
Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
