MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Dear Lindblom families and community,
During Black History Month, we are reminded why spaces like Lindblom Math & Science Academy, and the values we stand on, matter deeply. Recent public imagery circulating in the media has included racist caricatures of Black leaders and public servants. Such portrayals are harmful, rooted in a long history of dehumanization, and especially painful for many in our community.
At Lindblom MSA, our “Be”lief Pillars guide our commitment to being inclusive, understanding, and supportive, ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and safe. We strive to engage and empower our students by helping them think critically about history, media, and the world around them, while challenging narratives that diminish the dignity of any group of people.
Black History Month exists because Black voices, contributions, and humanity were too often erased or distorted. Because of who our students are, the experiences they carry into our building, and the social context they are navigating, we are called to affirm their humanity, contextualize harmful rhetoric within history, and equip them to navigate and transform the world they are inheriting.
Together we rise in cross racial solidarity,
Principal Banks

P.S. In addition to this one from last week, here is another joy-inspiring selection from our recent dance recital. I find strength for the journey ahead in the song lyrics and the skilled choreography of our students. May we all find peace in this story time.

Attention (Morning Drop-Off)
Students,
Beginning on Monday, February 9, any student entering the building before 7:45 am will be required to remain in Keeler until 7:45 am.
ATTENTION (Dismissal Concerns)
Parents, dismissal is at 2:48p on Colloquium days and 3:05p on maroon/gold days. All students must leave campus after dismissal unless involved in a staff-supervised afterschool activity. Afterschool offerings are advertised within our newsletters; most offerings are free and a few have a nominal fee. Space is limited to forty (40) students in the social room and forty (40) students in the library; both spaces close at 5:00 p.m. and students must depart the building at that time. Lindblom Park is one of our valuable community partners and the park offers affordable after-school programming for students of all ages. Consider the available options at Lindblom Park or make the necessary arrangements to pick up your children on time.

Spring Report Card Pick-Up
Helping our students thrive is at the heart of everything we do. I am proud to say that our teachers value connecting with the parents of our students and the parents of our students value collaborating with our teachers. Thank you to the teachers and parents who shared feedback within our RCPU surveys; your perspectives were incredibly valuable in highlighting the value of parent-teacher connections. Your perspectives also highlighted where we can make the process smoother and more meaningful for everyone.
March 18 is our next Parent Teacher Conference Day/Report Card Pick-Up (RCPU). We want to build a RCPU model that honors expertise and everyone's overall investment of time, while keeping our student's growth at the absolute center of every conversation. We invite you to vote on the direction that best fits our community.
