Notes from Emily

I hope everyone enjoyed the lunch this week. Thank you to everyone who brought items to make it such a wonderful meal, and shoutout to our chef, Vera, and her sous-chefs, Malia, Renee and Bryan! It was a beautiful afternoon and nice to be able to sit and chat with one another.

As many of you know, we have seen an influx in calls and walk-ins regarding individuals wanting to use our ASPIRE tuition waiver to enroll in classes, specifically our Flex Health classes. We have concrete data to confirm higher than normal traffic to the Aspire Tuition Waiver webpage too. Additionally, R&R has seen a high volume of adult applications come in this week for out-of-state individuals seeking the Medical Assisting Program. This influx in inquiries has also led Stormie to have to create a waitlist for some of her programs because of the increased demand/enrollment in some of the Flex Health classes.

This is all due to social media posts that are circulating like wildfire. We are working to combat the issue, although the posts are not necessarily sharing inaccurate information. Here are a few steps we are taking immediately:

  • Kurt is adding a cover page to the ASPIRE application that will help clarify that this is for Oklahoma Residents, immediate enrollment is not guaranteed, and that mandatory in-person attendance is required for the courses
  • We are also going to attempt to relink the ASPIRE application with this updated cover page to a new landing page in an effort to "break" the link that is being reshared on the social media pages (whatever you do, please do NOT reshare the new link via any social media posts!)
  • Stormie is going to add wording to the Flex Health webpage that talks about the possibility of a waitlist and that immediate enrollment is not always guaranteed
  • We have removed any language on the Flex Health pages that talks about Next Step and ASPIRE being available for those programs

We're hoping this will help reduce the volume of individuals who are inquiring, solely from the social media posts, and allow us to go back to our standard community members who wish to use this opportunity for an education to then enter the workforce. Fingers crossed it helps!

Hang in there - especially to our Enrollment Consultants and Walk-in Advisor and Jan who have felt the brunt of this viral sensation!

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
