A Note from Mrs. Kopperud and Ms. Abreo
Dear Adventure Families,
One of the reasons that our school community is so amazing is we have a strong, experienced, caring group of teachers and staff. The week of May 5-9 is National Teacher Appreciation Week. Together with our PIE group, Ms. Abreo and I have planned a week of treats for the staff. If you'd also like to spoil your child's teacher, you can find a link to their "favorites" on our website here. I think we have the best staff around, so please join me in recognizing them for all hard work and dedication to our kids.
Next week, some of our teachers are inviting the parents of current 1st graders to join us for an informational dual language meeting on Tuesday, April 29 at 3:30. As many of you know, our dual language program transitions in 2nd grade. The purpose of this meeting is to help parents understand what their child's education will include starting next year. We think it's important for parents to help their kids prepare for these shifts before August.
Below this message, two parent surveys are linked. The first one is Adventure's Parent & Community Engagement survey, it is brief and we will use this feedback to plan our family engagement opportunities for next year. The second one is Mapleton's annual Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey; this survey takes a bit more time to complete and Ms. Abreo and I use this feedback to inform our school improvement planning. Both surveys close on May 1, thank you in advance for taking the time to offer us your feedback!
Lastly, mark your calendars for our Fiesta Cultural next Thursday, 3:30-6:30pm! Details can be found below, but please join us! And, if you're able, sign up to volunteer at the event.
Saludos,
Sarah Kopperud

Extracurricular Clubs Updates
We have 4 weeks left of clubs for the 2024-2025 school year!
Last day of clubs is Friday, May 23, 2025.
A small reminder - there will be no clubs next Thursday, May 1, 2025. Instead, we will be having Adventure's Fiesta Cultural! Fiesta Cultural is a combination of Dia del Niño and Cinco de Mayo. Please join us from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm for an afternoon of fun, food, and community building! We will have food, a petting zoo, face painting, Piñatas for students, and performance by No 'Mo' Violence dance troupe (Mexican folklorico and Breakdancing) and Mariachi "Mariachi Corazon de Oro" with the Colorado Youth Mariachi Program.
Thank you all so much for your continued support. I am thankful to each and every one of you for allowing your children to be a part of our after-school programming. Please be on the lookout in our next newsletter for a Parent survey so we can get feedback for the activities we had this school year and to incorporate any new ideas for next year!
Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month
Adventure celebrates different heritages each month!
Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month is celebrated annually in May in the United States to highlight the history, heritage and contributions of Asian Pacific American communities. Asian-Americans and Pacific Islander Americans play a large role in the history of the United States. Contributing to stronger societies as individuals and as a group, their ancestry tracks back to continental Asia (the Middle East, East Asia and Southeast Asia) and the Pacific Islands (Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia) in the United States.
