CHIPS Weekly Update

We are getting ready for the 2026-27 school year! Current CHIPS families have been sent a survey to let us know their plans for next school year. If you have not yet completed this survey, please take a moment to do so at your earliest convenience. The survey link is below. Pre-registration for new families opens soon, and your spot will not be guaranteed if you haven't let us know that you plan to return.

CHIPS will be holding a virtual information session for prospective families on Thursday, January 29th at 6:00pm. If you know any families who are interested in CHIPS and would like more information, please pass this information along to them. The link to the virtual session is below, and is also available on the CHIPS page of the Chelmsford Public Schools website. Pre-registration for new families will open on Friday, January 30th. The pre-registration link will be posted on the CHIPS page on 1/30.

Below you will find a link to the CHIPS PTO directory. This is a great place to find information for playdates, birthday parties, etc. If your information is not in the directory and you would like it to be, please complete the sign up form that was in your child's welcome folder or contact the CHIPS office.

• January 30- Last Day of PTO Sock Drive
• February 5- NO SCHOOL- Parent Teacher Conferences
• February 16-20- NO SCHOOL- February Vacation

The state of Massachusetts offers free breakfast and lunch to ALL students. At the preschool level, AM students can receive free breakfast; PM students can receive free lunch. If you are interested in receiving free breakfast or lunch for your child and have not already signed up, please complete the Google Form below. Please note that it usually takes a day or two after signing up for your child to start receiving meals.

If your child is moving on to KINDERGARTEN next fall, please provide a copy of their most recent Physical, with immunizations, to Nurse Kristen Lynch. If they have an upcoming 5th year appointment, please share once that physical has been completed.

I will share reminders again ~ later in the spring ~ to submit this information along with further guidance for those students who turn 5 over the summer. This will help get a jump on the process, as Massachusetts requires a 5-year-old Physical including Immunizations, lead test and a current vision screening with stereopsis, prior to Kindergarten entry.

Please use our absence line (978-251-5188 Option 0) or our attendance email (chipsattendance@chelmsford.k12.ma.us) to report your child's absence from school and be sure to state the reason for the absence (illness, appointment, travel, etc). If your child is out due to illness, please let us know the nature of the illness (fever, vomiting, cough, etc.).

Nurse Kristen can be reached by calling the CHIPS main number (978-251-5188) and selecting option 3.

Our CHIPS Little Free Library- such a fun way to help foster a love of reading in our preschoolers! Feel free to stop by with your child and borrow a book! Please remember to return the book when you are finished:) If you have books at home that you would like to donate, please put them in the Little Library or send them into CHIPS with your child.
