FSMA One Book One School Event, 3/20/24
This year, all of FSMA has participated in our One Book One School experience to learn about antiracism through the books of #1 New York Times bestselling author Tiffany Jewell and accompanying picture books for K/1 students to follow the themes of Identity, Justice, and Activism. We invite you to join us the evening of March 20th to celebrate the learning that has happened through this shared reading, and to be a part of a live conversation with author Tiffany Jewell who will be joining us virtually for a student-led Q&A, featuring questions from FSMA learners. Pizza will be available for pre-purchase and will be served between 5:30 and 6:00 or bring your own meal! Student art and poetry will be on display for you to view. We will also have a video presentation of our FSMA students sharing poetry inspired by their One Book One School experience. You won't want to miss it! And, a huge thank you to our PTO for sending 8 teachers to Orlando for the American Montessori Conference in March... Courtney, Liz M, Elsje, Sara S, Lori, Jen S, Rye and Maggie will participate in many Montessori learning opportunities and will bring their learning back to their teams.
Tools and other suppies needed for a new elective
FSMA is offering a new class to middle school students to learn how to fix and repair things and learn to use basic tools.
We are hoping for donations that allow our students to have a truly hands-on experience. If you have any extra items thst you can part with, our children will benefit. Here is what we need: screwdrivers, hammers, needle nose pliers, wratchet and socket wrench sets, tape measures, putty knife, corded drills, bits, basic saws, and a bike pump.
Please DO NOT send these on the bus with your student. Instead drop at the front desk while you’re here for pickup, watch me work, or conferences.
Thank you!
Join us as we celebrate 10 years of FSMA with the very best of Wilmington's restaurants at A Night in the City! Taste the foods of our generous neighbors while you lounge in the new Mill space, or dance the night away with music from Chordoruy! Tickets available now for just $50 per person!
