Paws and Claws are at the groomers this week! 😆

If your student uses school transportation, please make sure you have downloaded the “MyRide” app. We use this app to send out messages, notifications, and alerts for buses running late, late starts, route changes, etc. MyRide is currently our only means of communication around all things bus related. With winter just around the corner, we want to make sure our caregivers are receiving bus notifications in real time.

ENABLE PHONE NOTIFICATIONS: Turn on pop-up or lock-screen notifications in your phone's settings so real-time updates appear right on your screen!

We are excited to announce that our 3rd graders recently participated in the annual Fire Safety Calendar contest! Out of nearly 500 picture entries submitted state-wide, top finalists have been selected for the 2027 calendar, and some of our 3rd grade students may have been chosen as finalists!

This year, blind voting is open to Vermont schools, the Vermont Division of Fire Safety, and MOU partners to help select the winning artwork. Top vote-earners will take 1st place and be featured for their designated month in the official calendar, while the next highest vote-earners will also be recognized and printed in the finished calendar.

• Voting Deadline: Voting is open until the end of the day on Monday, November 9th (pictures go to the printer on November 10th!).

• How to Vote: Anyone can vote! You can vote for your favorite pictures by clicking on the Calendar Voting Form.

Please feel free to share the voting link with family, friends, and colleagues to support our students.

Each person may vote once.

Dear Calais Community,

Growing on the success of the WCUUSD Community Learning Series, an intergenerational evening community learning experience, we are planning to host hand-craft workshops in early winter.

We are currently seeking folks with experience and comfort leading workshops in any of the following areas:

• Handwork

• Candle-Dipping

• Hard wood spatulas

• Darned / patchwork clothing

• Printing on clothing

• Greeting cards

• Print making

• Dried flower art

• Teas

• Felting
