Principal's Message Principal's Message

I wanted to let you know that I am collaboratively working with Central Office to find a replacement for the assistant principal position. We should have a resolution soon.

As we come to a close of the 1st quarter next week, we are still seeing some of the same behaviors of students from the beginning of the year. I have had restorative conversations and given many opportunities for students to make better choices. Starting in the second quarter I will increase the consequences for repeated behaviors. Please speak with your student about "Living the West Way" and meeting school expectations.

Physical Education Class Physical Education Class

Our 6th graders had an exciting and active Physical Education class this week as part of First Responder Fridays! We were thrilled to welcome the Mifflin Township Fire Department to GMSW for a fun and educational collaboration.

Students and firefighters teamed up to work through agility ladders, showing off their coordination and speed! In addition to the physical fun, students got an up-close look at some of the important tools firefighters use when responding to emergencies.

Beyond the activities, we had meaningful conversations about the importance of staying healthy and fit—both in school and in careers like firefighting. It was a great opportunity to learn about what it takes to be a first responder and explore a potential future path.

A big THANK YOU to the Mifflin Township Fire Department for spending time with us and making fitness and learning so much fun!
