Welcome Back Mavericks!
Dear Morton Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at J. Sterling Morton Elementary School! I could not be happier with the start to our new school year. Our theme this year is “Constructing Bright Futures,” and I am excited about all that we will build together throughout the year. We are off to a great start! Our students have done a tremendous job transitioning back to school, learning routines, reconnecting with friends and teachers, and meeting our school-wide expectations. It has been wonderful to see our hallways filled with smiling faces, positive energy, and students ready to learn.
I am also excited to welcome several new members to the Morton family:
- Tonja Sullivan – 5th Grade Teacher
- Jenna Cook – 2nd Grade Teacher
- Cole Renken – ACP Teacher
- Jessica Lupo - School Psychologist
- Brenna Johnson – ACP Paraprofessional
- Morgan Sampson – ACP Paraprofessional
We are thrilled to have these outstanding educators and support staff joining our team. They have already made a positive impact on our school community, and I know they will be tremendous additions to the Morton family.
One of the biggest highlights for our students has been our new playground! Our Mavericks are absolutely thrilled to have this new space to play, explore, and build relationships with one another. We are extremely grateful for the incredible support we have received from our Morton community and Millard Public Schools. Your investment in our students and our school makes a tremendous difference. And there is more to come! Morton Elementary will receive additional renovations next spring. We will continue to keep families updated as we get closer to that exciting project and will share more information as plans develop.
Most importantly, I want our families to know how proud I am of our staff. We have an amazing team that has worked extremely hard to prepare for this school year and to ensure that your child has the BEST 2026–2027 school year possible. Their dedication, collaboration, and commitment to our students are what make Morton such a special place. I couldn't be happier with the start of this school year, and I am excited about all that we will accomplish together. There is so much to look forward to as we continue Constructing Bright Futures for every Morton student.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I look forward to another great year at J. Sterling Morton Elementary School!
Go Mavericks!
