Parent and Community Engagement at Truitt Middle School
Hello Timberwolf families,
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at Open House. Our staff enjoyed getting to meet you and we hope that you were able to connect with your student's teachers.
Our first UIL grade check is coming up Friday, Sept. 18th. While this is not an official report card, it will determine eligibility for our students involved in UIL activities (athletics, band, etc.). This is a great time for you to check your student's grades in HAC. We expect all of our Timberwolves to be engaged in their classes and we need you, as guardians, to stay involved with your student's academic performance. Check their grades often and reach out to teachers if you ever have questions. We are always here to help.
We would also like to invite everyone out to our last 8th grade home football game on Sept. 29th. We are going to have our band, choir, and dance team perform. We will also be announcing our Student Council election winners. It would be a great night to come cheer on the Timberwolves and see many of our student groups. We hope to see you there.

Procedures for Students Leaving Early
Dear Parents and Guardians,
If you plan on having your student leave early because of a doctor's appointment or non-emergency, please follow these procedures:
- Send a handwritten note with your student information and the time needed to be excused (please make sure your student gives it to attendance before 1st period).
- If sending a note through email, please make sure you attach a photo of your ID and you must send it an hour prior to leaving.
- No emails or early releases after 2:30 pm due to the dismissal process starting.
Please keep in mind that the state of Texas requires students to be in attendance at least 90% for each class or they will be in danger of losing credit. Try to schedule appointments for after school and ensure your student is on time for first period every day.
Other helpful tips:
- Make sure if your student is absent, please send a doctor's note when your student arrives back to school.
- Only emergency contacts listed can be allowed to take students with previous approval from guardian.
- If a student arrives at school after 7:55 am, make sure to sign them in or send a note. Otherwise, they will be counted absent.
If you have any questions or concerns,
Please email nancy.torres2@cfisd.net or jennifer.villarreal@cfisd.net
for any attendance needs

A Parent's Right to Know
Title I is a federally funded program meant to provide opportunities for disadvantaged
children to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to help close the
achievement gap. As a parent of a student receiving Title 1 funds, federal law allows
parents to ask for information about the certification of your child's teacher and/or paraprofessional.
