Save the Date: Shady Grove’s Annual Harvest Festival!

It’s everyone’s favorite time of year — Harvest Festival time!
Join us on Thursday, October 22nd from 5:30–7:30 PM for an evening of fall fun, friends, and community. This is a FREE event for all Shady Grove families!

New to SGE? Harvest Fest is a little bit Trunk or Treat, a little bit dance party, and a whole lot of fun. It’s one of the most beloved nights of the year — and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

This event is 100% run by our HSA and parent volunteers, and we genuinely cannot do it without you! Sign-ups for Trunk Hosts, candy/non-food treat donations, and day-of volunteers will be coming soon!

Right now, we’re looking for a few parents to help plan and coordinate this year’s event! Being on the committee is easier than you think, I swear — you can pitch in as much or as little as you’d like, with lots of small ways to help, from decorations and signs to snacks, prizes, logistics, and more.

Interested in helping or just want to learn more? Sign up to join the committee through Membership Toolkit (link below) or reach out to me directly via Facebook message! We’re hoping to hold our committee kickoff call early next week.

We can’t wait to make this year’s Harvest Festival the best one yet — thank you for helping make it happen!

Annual HSA Dues

You might have seen a yellow envelope come home with your student last week!

The HSA is collecting our annual dues to help fund all of the amazing activities we sponsor here at Shady Grove. The HSA is a non-profit organization and cannot function without the financial support of our community. While our organization is free to join, we do ask for contributions to help support our efforts.

We suggest an amount of $20.00 per student, but all levels of support are appreciated and tax-deductible. We accept donations by cash and check (made out to Shady Grove H&SA) to be sent back to school in the yellow envelope or if your envelope ended up in the trash by mistake you can pay your dues on the Membership Toolkit platform by clicking this link.

Please contact Mrs. Becky Twiford, School Counselor, rtwiford@wsdweb.org if you need assistance. SGE will be partnering with WeCare, an Ambler community-based non-profit organization that helps families connect to food resources.

More Information on WeCare

WeCare is fueled by the passion of its founders Eva O'Brien, Kelly Evans, Lauren Kellock, and Sue Kauffman DePuyt.

WeCare's mission is to build a supportive community for food-insecure Ambler families, creating connections and providing direct access to essential resources. WeCare is currently assisting 21 families (including 58 children) with bi-weekly food distribution and resource newsletters during the school year, and in the summer of 2024, they distributed 2,708 nutritious snack bags, and organized activities for over 400 children. WeCare is aligned with the non-profit organization, Family Promise Montco, PA. Sign up to tell WeCare you can help cover costs.

Donations can be made in person or online at fpmontco.org/donate/wecare and checks payable to “Family Promise Montco PA” with “WeCare” in the memo line mailed to Family Promise Montco PA, 31 S Spring Garden Street, Ambler, PA, 19002. For more information about WeCare and how this organization is lovingly supporting our neighbors right here in Ambler, see their Facebook page "wecare.ambler” or reach out via email at wecare.ambler@gmail.com.
