What's New?
October 9th, 2026
Hola Ada Vista familias,
We have had such a wonderful week of joy and community! Monday we had our first House Gathering, where one class from each grade level came together to get to know each other and build a sense of community and belonging. It was incredibly powerful to see how our older students stepped up to make sure our littles felt seen and heard. đź’™ We were also thrilled to recognize our September Students of the Month this week. These outstanding students were nominated by their peers for exemplifying PRIDE and making a meaningful impact on our school community all month long. Now please see below for a fun photo from our House Gatherings plus important dates and information!

Important Information
1. Toys & Pokemon Cards
Please remember that toys, trading cards (including Pokémon), and personal trinkets should stay safely at home. These items can easily become a major distraction in the classroom and, unfortunately, often end up lost, damaged, or misplaced during the school day. To keep learning focused and avoid any lost treasures, please help your child check their backpacks before leaving for school each morning. Thank you for your support and partnership!
2. Sibling Census
Families who currently have enrolled immersion students, or have immersion alumni siblings, are eligible for the Sibling Registration. The SiblingRegistration window opens November 24, 2025. Please bring the completed Language Immersion Kindergarten Program Intent to Enroll Form AND a copy of your student's Birth Certificate to the Ada Vista office no later than January 5, 2026 at noon in order to secure your student's placement for the 2026-27 school year.
3. Spooky STEAM Opportunity
Ready for some spooky science and some great STEAM activities? Check out THIS opportunity! If you do attend, please send pictures to thollenbeck@fhps.net.
4. Assessment Results
Check your student's backpack on Friday October 9th to find their MAP and/or MSTEP results. If your child is in 4th grade, you can also expect to find their M-STEP results. If they are not in your child's backpack today, your teacher may be handing them out at conferences!
5. Art Sketchbooks
Sra Gregory still needs help with one more grade-level set of sketchbooks (about 95 total)! If you're able to support, order HERE.

Ongoing Reminders (Copy/Paste)
Sipzee
Always have can returns waiting in your garage? Well look no further, AV has officially set up a partnership with Sipzee. They will come pick up your returnables from your house, and AV gets part of the return profits! You need approximately a garbage bag full of cans for them to come to your home, but as someone who has used this service before it is well worth it! AV gets 5 cents per can, the pickup person gets 4 cents and Sipzee only takes 1 cent! Go to THIS website to sign up for your first pickup and simply select "Donate to a local non profit and select Ada Vista" when you get to the page that asks how you would like to be paid.
***UPDATE: NOW YOU CAN DROP OFF YOUR CANS TO US! AV HAS A RECYCLING BIN OUTSIDE BY THE MAIN ENTRANCE LABELED "SIPZEE" THAT YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR CANS IN!***
Please make sure they're in a bag, that's all we ask!
BoxTops
Ada Vista is partnered with BoxTops! All you have to do is download the app, set up an account, connect to Ada Vista and scan your receipts. Even if you don't do it every time, when you do remember it helps!
