Parent and Community Engagement at Truitt Middle School
Hello Timberwolf families,
It was another great week at Truitt Middle School. We celebrated our non-varsity Orchestra at the VPAC as they scored all ones in both their stage performance and sight reading. This is the highest score possible. Great job students and their directors, Ms. Bernard and Mr. Watts. There are amazing things happening every day at Truitt Middle School.
Parents, please help us with our campus goal of improving attendance. We are seeing an increase in the number of students late for first period. Please ensure that you are dropping your student off around 7:30 and to account for time in the drop off line.
Attendance is critical, especially as we prepare for our STAAR tests coming up in the next few weeks. Every day that your student is absent, they are missing essential information. Plus, we just enjoy them being here. We have incredible students at Truitt Middle School. I cannot tell you how many compliments we get about your students from our district visitors.
We do have some events coming up that I would like to highlight.
April 6 is a teacher workday. Students will not be on campus. Per Texas law, we must designate specific days for parent conferences. This will be one of those days. If you would like to schedule a conference with one of your student's teachers, please reach out to them directly.
This Thursday, March 26, we will hose our Multicultural Night. Please join us at 6:00 PM to see students display and celebrate the many cultures that represent the Truitt community.
May 15 will be our 8th Grade Dance! The students are excited about this important event. Tickets will be on SchoolCash, so save the date. Keep in mind that attendance and behavior must be excellent to attend. The AP team will be reminding students about that during lunches.
Follow us across social media platforms to see highlights of some of the great things going on at Truitt Middle School.
Thank you,
Justin Nichols

Parent Teacher Conference April 6, 2026
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We value our partnership with you and are committed to our ongoing communication about your child’s progress. As part of this commitment, all parents have the option to request a conference at any point in time during the school year.
This year, our district has designated two specific days, which are November 4th and April 6th, for conferences. Just so you know, these dates do not replace the opportunity for additional conferences that may be scheduled throughout the year as needed to support student growth.
To schedule your conference, please visit the Truitt website, navigate to the Faculty & Staff page. This will allow you to email your child’s teacher directly to arrange a time for a face-to-face conference.
Thank you for your partnership and continued support. We look forward to our continued communication and collaboration to ensure a successful year for every student.

Robotics Success at CFISD Spring VEX V5RC Competition 🤖🏆
Truitt Middle School Robotics proudly competed in the CFISD Spring VEX V5RC competition, taking on an impressive challenge by competing at the high school level—the only middle school to do so.
Our 8th-grade team earned an outstanding 12th-place ranking, while our 6th/7th-grade team finished strong at 38th place among a highly competitive field.
This experience showcased our students’ determination, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and willingness to step outside their comfort zone. We are incredibly proud of our Robotics Wolves for representing Truitt Middle School with excellence and courage. Way to rise to the challenge! 💙🐺

Procedures for Students Leaving Early
Dear Parents and Guardians,
If you plan on having your student leave early because of a doctor's appointment or non-emergency, please follow these procedures:
- Send a handwritten note with your student information and the time needed to be excused (please make sure your student gives it to attendance before 1st period).
- If sending a note through email, please make sure you attach a photo of your ID and you must send it an hour prior to leaving.
- No emails or early releases after 2:30 pm due to the dismissal process starting.
Other helpful tips:
- Make sure if your student is absent, please send a doctor's note when your student arrives back to school.
- Only emergency contacts listed can be allowed to take students with previous approval from guardian.
- If a student arrives at school after 7:55 am, make sure to sign them in or send a note. Otherwise, they will be counted absent.
- Only 8 absences are allowed per semester.
If you have any questions or concerns,
Please email hilda.trujillo@cfisd.net or Priscilla.enriquez@ cfisd.net

A Parent's Right to Know
Title I is a federally funded program meant to provide opportunities for disadvantaged
children to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to help close the
achievement gap. As a parent of a student receiving Title 1 funds, federal law allows
parents to ask for information about the certification of your child's teacher and/or paraprofessional.
Truitt ALPHAS
Truitt Middle School would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mr. Cabrera for coming to our campus and serving as an Alpha Dad. His presence, time, and commitment to supporting our students help foster a positive, safe, and encouraging school environment. We are grateful for his dedication to being a positive role model and for partnering with us in supporting student success.
Are you a dad, stepdad, granddad, uncle, or older brother? If so, we would love for you to come and volunteer as a Truitt Alpha!! It's very similar to the Watch D.O.G Program and it provides positive male role models on campus!
Your presence provides:
- School security
- Reduction in bullying
- A greater sense of safety
- Emphasis on the importance of education and attendance
