Message from Mr. Imbusch

Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:

This past week, MyCAP seminars started for the sophomores and juniors. This program is part of the implementation of the Innovation Pathways Program here at WHS. These seminars will rotate every other cycle with the Counseling Department during students’ B-block study hall.

My Career and Academic Plan (MyCAP) is an initiative by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to prepare students for college, career, and civic readiness. The MyCAP process engages students in authentic post-secondary planning through activities and lessons focused on the individual student's interests, skills, and talents.

Please click HERE to find out more about this exciting new initiative at WHS

I also want to bring to your attention that some community events are often posted in the Virtual backpack. This week, for example, there is Active Bystander Training being offered on February 5 @ 6:30 pm. at the Walpole PD Community Room (Registration Required). This workshop teaches about the choices you can make if you are a bystander witnessing a harmful situation. It teaches how bystanders can interrupt harm and generate positive actions by others.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Stephen Imbusch

Principal

WHS Robotics

The Robotics Team is very busy this month with the 2025 game Reefscape being unveiled. The team will be very busy getting to work on designing, building and programming their newest robot for the new season. They just finished up their fall training session by building an elevator mechanism with a wrist. It was a great experience for many members of the team to learn how to design this mechanism on CAD, build it, and program the elevator for the first time. These will all be useful skills in the upcoming season.

First Lego League (FLL) just wrapped up with the 3 teams and they had a great season with one team making it to states. Congratulations to them.

So please read the newsletter to find out all the news because there is a whole lot more.
