MEET THE EDITOR OF BEAR BUTTE BREEZES
Last week, a story about senior, Cash Daigle, being named the 2025 SD High School Journalist of the Year for his work as editor for the Bear Butte Breezes was incorrect. Cash Daigle is the editor for the This 'N That student magazine.
Leila Pritts, Sturgis Brown High School senior, is the current editor for the Bear Butte Breezes. Leila started her journey with the high school's Journalism Program during her freshman year, three years ago. Leila is on track to graduate early from SBHS and has been constantly involved in Journalism. During her first year, she wrote articles, took photos, created infographics and debuted her comic series called "Tid-Bits" which is featured in almost every issue of the newspaper and magazine during her second year in Journalism.
During Leila's final year in Journalism, she has become the lead editor for the Bear Butte Breezes, where she composes the newspaper each month, editing articles and cutlines. She ensures that fellow journalism students meet deadlines and makes sure that the newspaper focuses on a variety of stories representing all students at SBHS.
Leila Pritts has had an outstanding high school career in Journalism, winning a superior ranking on all work submitted to state every year, as well as, lettering all three years. Beside editor of the Bear Butte Breezes, Leila is the vice president of the Journalism Club here at Sturgis Brown High School.
