Dear Spring Lake Families,

Welcome back to another exciting school year! We hope that you and your family had a wonderful summer and are ready for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. As we get ready for the new school year, we want to share some important information to help ensure a smooth transition for you and your child(ren).

IMPORTANT DATES & INFORMATION:

  • Classroom Assignments - Tuesday, August 5th: Log into your Parent Portal and click on “Schedule” to view your child’s teacher.
    • Kindergarten: If you have a kindergarten child that has not been assessed, they will not have a teacher assigned to them. Our next assessment day will be August 5th. To signup for an assessment time, click on this link, scroll to the bottom, look for the 08/05/2025 date, review the available slots, and signup. After your child is assessed, they will be assinged a teacher.
  • Open House: Tuesday, August 12th @ 1:30-3:30 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher, tour the classroom, and learn more about what’s in store for the year.
  • First Day of School: Wednesday, August 13th.

DAILY SCHEDULE:

  • Daily School Hours: Mon (9:15-2:45); Tue-Fri (9:15-3:30).
  • School Doors and Arrival Times:The school doors will unlock daily at 8:40 AM, allowing students to enter the building and get settled before classes begin. We ask that students arrive after this time to ensure their supervision and safety. Our goal is to create a safe and secure environment for all students, and adhering to this schedule helps us achieve that.

TRANSPORTATION & SAFETY:

  • School Bus Information: If your child rides a bus, you can access bus information by clicking on "Transportation" in your Parent Portal.
  • NEW SIDEWALK - Safe Walk: There is a new sidewalk on the south side of our building, which connects to the sidewalk on 1800 South. Students will be taking this route instead of crossing the south pick-up and drop-off lanes. This will provide extra safety. Just as a reminder, this is NOT a place for students to cross 1800 South, but use the crosswalk at 360 West instead.

POLICIES & PROGRAMS:

  • NEW Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy: Cell phones and smart watches are not to be used during school hours (bell-to-bell) and set to a mode where notifications cannot be received. Please refer to this policy for more information.
  • Breakfast: Our breakfast program starts at 8:45 AM. Students participating should arrive between 8:45-9:00 AM.
  • School Meals Information: Visit our school website for more meal payments, applications for free/reduced meals, and menus.

COMMUNITY & CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • Donations: Suggested donation is $25 per child to enhance the educational experiences (e.g. school supplies, field trips, assemblies, outdoor educational activities). Donations can be made via your Parent Portal, or in person at the front office.
  • School Community Council (SCC): If you are interested in serving on SCC, please contact Mrs. Findlay by August 15th. We currently have two positions available.

STAY INFORMED:

  • School Information Handbook: Prepared to assist families in understanding school policies and procedures.
  • School Website: Please visit our school website for information regarding school activities, calendars, policies, schedules, resources, etc.
  • Monthly Newsletter: Stay informed on school activities, calendars, policies, schedules, and resources.

We look forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, and community. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making this a successful school year for all.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Coral Lee Findlay
