Amazing Shake
Congrats to ALL of our students who participated in this year's Shake! We had uber drivers, keynote speaker introductions, product pitches, weather reports, interviews, and more! All teachers, staff, and judges are incredibly proud of your kiddos for overcoming fears, implementing techniques to combat nerves, preparing wonderful presentations, and demonstrating creativity for impromptu talks and pitches.

And the Winners Are....
Congrats to all our top three AMAZING SHAKE winners. As you can see, we had ties for second and third places. This year marks one for the record books at MVLA's Shake contest- a SIXTH grader took first! Congrats to Eli Cram for a job well done!
Curiosity Corner
In November, Mr. Barrera's science cores had students investigate how light interacts with Earth's atmosphere and different media. They had to explore color visibility under water and demonstrate the organization of our solar system. They were expected to conduct experiments, perform research, and create visual aids for a presentation on their findings. Ask your young scientist about their project. Better yet...have them present it to you!
FYI - Social Studies Ancient Civilizations research paper is due Monday, December 16th. Students may need assistance from you completing their annotated bibliography.
Mark Your Calendars
1) MVLA's student council will compete February 13th - 15th in the Student Council State Conference in Albuquerque at Cibolla High School.
2) Mrs. Cram's Destination Imagination MyTime will compete March 8th at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School in Albuquerque.

Parents Helping Teachers
- Please remind your students the importance of minimal distractions and interruptions in class. Frequent redirections result in loss of learning time.
- We very much care about your children. If they are experiencing a difficult morning or struggling with a life circumstance, please inform either the office, the principal, or their house teacher. This will help us better meet their needs and will help us adjust expectations as necessary.
