Winter Sports And College Signing Day for Athletes: Everything You Need to Know
Dear Liberty Families,
Please review the entire newsletter for new and up-to-date information from the LHS Activities
Office. Winters Sports Tryouts begin on Monday, November 2.
Athletes, make sure you have completed the following:
- Athletic Online Registration (Primary parent in Focus must complete)
- A valid physical has been turned in to the Activities Office
- Taken the ImPACT test within the last two years
If any of the items are incomplete, you will not be able to participate in tryouts.
Winter Sports offered at Liberty are: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Wrestling, Girls Wrestling, and Girls Swimming and Diving.
Athletic MSHSAA Eligibility Information
Athletes must be enrolled in at least 3.0 credits in the current semester and must have passed 3.0 credits the previous semester.
Athletic On-Line Registration Instructions
The online athletic registration form is now available to complete in Focus. The On-Line Registration will be open only for Fall sports athletes. Additional registration dates for Winter and Spring athletes will be communicated at a later date. Please click on the Athletic Registration Instructions button below for directions on how to register your athlete. Please note the athletic forms are only sent to the first parent listed in Focus. All athletes must be registered before official tryouts/practices begin on Monday, November 2.
Sports Physicals
Athletes must have a valid MSHSAA Physical Form on file with the Activities Office before official tryouts/practices begin on November 2. Physicals are valid for 2 years unless noted as a 1-year physical by a physician. Feel free to drop physicals off at school or scan and email them directly to marissawatkins@wsdr4.org. Please do not email a picture of the physical as they do not upload properly to your athlete's registration file.
ImPACT Testing
Athletes are required to have a valid ImPACT test on file with the Activities Office. The ImPACT test is an Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing. Athletes take the initial test for a baseline reading. The test is online and must be taken at Liberty. Athletes will work at their own pace and the test takes approximately 40 minutes and is valid for 2 years. This assessment is completed by 9th grade, 11th grade and new LHS student-athletes.
Test dates for winter athletes will be on 10/14, 10/20, 10/21, and 10/27 immediately after school in Room 606. Please bring your charged chromebook with you.
