Shoreham Elementary School

Hello Shoreham Community,

Last Tuesday, we started with a wonderful band and chorus concert led by Ms. Sarah Metcalf. Our students showcased beautiful music that we all enjoyed. For a number of our students this was their very first band and or chorus concert. Job well done!

We also started Spirit Week on Wednesday with Shoreham pride and spirit ! Students wore Shoreham gear and or our school colors .

At the end of the week, our students were able to enjoy picking out a few free books thanks to Ms. Abby, our school librarian. We hope students. engage in reading them over the break.

As we move into our last few days of school this week we will continue with 2 more days of Spirit Week. Tuesday is our last day of school we will have our annual craft fair where students are able to make crafts . We are very thankful for all the individuals that are donating their time and that are donating items to make this craft fair possible.

Lastly, I would like to take a moment to remind folks that if your child is going to be absent, tardy and or will be leaving early please make sure you call the office and let us know. It is greatly appreciated.

Spirit Week

December 17th - December 23rd

Our hope is that Spirit Week will be filled with fun for the last 5 days of school before break.

Students have the option of not participating if they choose .

Each day students have 2 options to choose from. Students should be wearing items that are appropriate and respectful of themselves and others.

Day 4:

Monday, December 22nd

Crazy Hat Day/ Crazy Hair Day

Students can style their hair in a safe wild wacky way. Design a hat that is wacky and safe.

Day 5: ( Last Day)

Tuesday, December 23rd

PJ Day / Stuffy Day

Please wear something that is really comfortable or wear warm and comfy pajamas.

Every Wednesday, Michelle Warren from the National Bank of Middlebury comes to Shoreham in the morning before school starts to help students deposit money into their School House Savings bank account .

Students can bring any amount of money to deposit . The goal is for students to save money and to see their account grow. With that being said; Michelle shared the monthly savings totals from the last few months. This is quite amazing!

In the month of January in collaboration with the bank we will be doing a Save-A-Thon. Whatever amount our students deposit ( up to $500) the National Bank of Middlebury will match and donate to our Parent - Teacher - Friend group which helps to sponsor many things for Shoreham students,staff and families .

Please remember:

1. If your child will be late or absent please call Irene in the main office.

2. Send your child with proper footwear for school (including sneakers for PE).

3. Students are not supervised outside / inside before 7:30 am.

4. If you are picking up your child at school please make sure to pick them up on the southern

side of the school NOT the northern side by the church.

5. Pick up students from the main entrance only
