Class of 2024 Graduation: Sunday, June 2!
Congrats to the Class of 2024! HF's Graduation is this Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m. in the football stadium. Graduates must be in line and ready for the ceremony no later than 12 p.m. in the South Building, in order to participate.
Important Update: In the event of inclement weather on Sunday, the contingency graduation date will be Monday, June 3, at 6:00 p.m., at the Stadium. Our rationale for this is to ensure that all 5 tickets are used in support of your student on this joyous occasion. Our third and final option, if necessary, will be the South Gymnasium if the weather is unfavorable on Monday. If held in the South Gymnasium, there will be limited seating. This means that only the two white tickets will allow admittance. Due to fire code, every person, including lap children, must have a ticket to enter the South Gymnasium.
Graduation rehearsal will be held tomorrow, Thursday, May 30, at 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the South Gym. All graduates must attend the practice or have a stand-in attend the practice, or they will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Caps, gowns, honor cords, and graduation tickets will be distributed after the rehearsal. Read all the Graduation FAQ Letter below.

Happening Around Town
Save the Date: Celebrating Flossmoor's Birthday with a Ball Game
On June 10, 1924, a meeting was held in the garage of a large home on Sterling Avenue where the boundaries of Flossmoor were determined and a vote to incorporate as a Village was held. Seventy-eight votes were cast for incorporating; 60 votes were for not incorporating. Ten days later Cook County duly authenticated the matter of incorporation, and the Village of Flossmoor was founded on June 20, 1924.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of this date, the Village of Flossmoor will hold a birthday party celebration on Thursday, June 20. The Take Me Out to the Ball Game / Flossmoor’s 100th Birthday Party will be held in Flossmoor Park (Brassie Avenue and Flossmoor Road) from 4:30-9 p.m. All are invited to celebrate.
Why ball games? One of the most popular and lasting organized forms of recreation in Flossmoor is baseball. The Flossmoor Baseball League formed in the early 1960s as part of the Pony League; softball teams were added in the 1970s. Today’s league continues many of the traditions from that early league, including opening day ceremonies and a parade down Flossmoor Road, which was held this year on April 20. Games and practices in Flossmoor Park continue to be a way for families to come together, make new friends and enjoy their community.
