PBIS at WHS
Creating a safe, positive school environment where students can learn and grow is important to all of us. One of the ways we support this at Whetstone is through PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) - a school-wide approach that encourages and rewards positive behavior. At Whetstone, PBIS is guided by "The Whetstone Way":
Have Integrity
Give Compassion
Show Respect
In simple terms, students earn points for demonstrating positive behavior, and they can redeem these points for prizes and recognition.
This year, weāre introducing a new tool to make tracking and redeeming points easier: ClassBank
ClassBank is a digital system that works like a simple "bank account" for PBIS points. It lets teachers award points quickly and easily while allowing students see their balance and choose prizes. This helps make PBIS more consistent, efficient, and fun for students.
You can learn more about:
Whetstone PBIS at https://www.whetstonepta.org/home/family-ambassador-page/pbis
ClassBank athttps://www.classbank.com/about
Weāre excited about how PBIS + ClassBank will continue to support a positive, safe, and engaging school environment.
Check out the silly video below to learn more about PBIS and ask your student what they know, how they can earn points, and what prizes theyāre excited about!
