A Message from Superintendent Mr. Rose
Dear Wilson Families,
I am incredibly proud of the strong start we have made across Wilson School District. Our campuses are filled with students learning, exploring, collaborating, and building the skills that will help shape them into the future leaders of our community.
The first month of school plays an important role in establishing the foundation for the rest of the year. Our teachers and staff have worked hard to create positive classroom environments, build relationships with students, establish routines, and provide meaningful learning opportunities. The work happening now will continue to guide our students as they grow throughout the school year.
We are also excited to invite families to our upcoming Curriculum Night on August 27 from 5:00–6:00 p.m. at both our Primary and Elementary campuses. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to learn more about what students will be learning this year, connect with teachers, and become more involved in their child's educational experience. We look forward to welcoming our families to campus and sharing all the exciting learning taking place in our classrooms.
Beyond the school day, we are excited to see our 21st Century programs getting started. These programs provide students with additional opportunities to learn, explore interests, develop new skills, and participate in engaging activities outside of their regular classroom experiences.
Fall athletics are also getting underway at our Elementary campus. We encourage all of our students to get involved in athletics throughout the year. Sports provide students with opportunities to build teamwork, discipline, perseverance, communication, and leadership while developing healthy habits and school spirit. Whether students are competing on the field, supporting their teammates, or trying a sport for the first time, there is something valuable to be gained from being part of a team.
I want to thank our dedicated teachers, staff, families, and students for making the beginning of this school year such a success. The excitement across our campuses is a reflection of the strong Wilson community we continue to build together.
Here’s to a successful start and an incredible year ahead!
With appreciation,
Mr. Rose
Superintendent

Summer Bond Projects: Thank YOU for Supporting Wilson
Thanks to the support of our community on our latest bond, several improvements were completed this summer to enhance learning environments and provide students and staff with updated resources.
Interactive screens were installed in classrooms across the district, giving teachers new tools to make lessons more interactive and engaging. These screens provide opportunities for students to participate in lessons, collaborate, explore digital resources, and interact with content in new ways.
Students also returned to school with new laptops, providing updated technology to support classroom learning, research, projects, and digital activities throughout the school year.
Our staff members received new laptops as well, giving teachers and employees updated technology to support lesson planning, communication, professional responsibilities, and the daily work that keeps our schools running.
The improvements extend beyond classroom technology. At the Primary Campus, new turf and shade sails were installed to improve outdoor spaces for students. The updated area provides students with a more comfortable space to play, participate in activities, and enjoy time outside throughout the school year.
These projects represent more than new equipment and campus improvements. They are investments in the success of our students and their futures. We look forward to continuing to share the progress happening across the district and the ways your tax dollars are helping create a stronger Wilson community. Because when our students thrive, we all thrive!
Tap, Create, Play: Music Class Gets Digital!
Music class looked a little different as students used technology to create their own beats and musical tunes. Instead of simply listening to music, students had the opportunity to become the creators.
They worked with digital music tools to experiment with different beats, sounds, and rhythms. They tried different combinations, listened to how the sounds worked together, and made adjustments to create tunes of their own. The activity gave students a chance to explore music while also building confidence with technology. Students had to make choices about rhythm, timing, and sound as they worked toward creating something they were proud to share.
It was a hands-on music lesson where technology became another tool for creativity and learning.
Students aren't just listening to music—they're learning how to make it!
Multiplication Masters in the Making!
Math class was all about multiplication for our 5th graders! Students spent time practicing their multiplication tables, working through problems, and building the speed and accuracy they need for more advanced math skills.
The classroom was filled with students working through their tables, checking their answers, and challenging themselves to remember those tricky multiplication facts. Practicing multiplication may seem simple, but these skills become an important foundation for everything students will tackle next in math. From larger numbers to fractions, decimals, and more complex equations, knowing those multiplication facts can make a big difference.
Our 5th graders are putting in the practice, staying focused, and showing that becoming a multiplication master takes a little work—and plenty of repetition! Keep going, mathematicians!
Building Creativity, One Block at a Time!
Art class gives students a chance to think creatively, experiment with designs, and turn simple materials into something of their own.
They explored pattern blocks to build different visual creations. Instead of following one exact design, students had the opportunity to arrange, rearrange, and combine shapes to see what they could create. As our future leaders worked, each project began to take on its own look. Some focused on repeating patterns, while others experimented with different shapes and arrangements. The activity encouraged them to venture and make creative choices while thinking about how shapes, patterns, and space work together.
Pattern blocks also gave students a hands-on way to practice problem-solving. Students had to decide which pieces worked best together, make adjustments when a design didn't turn out as planned, and keep experimenting until they were happy with their creation.
It was a great example of how art can give students the freedom to explore their ideas while developing creativity, focus, and confidence.
Shapes, Blocks & Big Learning in Kindergarten!
Kindergarten classrooms were busy with hands-on learning as students worked through activities designed to help them practice important early skills.
One activity had students grabbing their whiteboards and showing what they knew about shapes. They practiced identifying different shapes, drawing them on their boards, and demonstrating their understanding in a way that made the lesson interactive. The whiteboards gave everyone a chance to participate, practice, and quickly show their thinking.
Our kindergarteners were also using building blocks to practice their counting skills. Instead of simply saying numbers, students used the blocks to create groups, count each piece, and connect numbers to real objects. The activity gave students a chance to practice counting while also keeping their hands and minds busy.
From drawing shapes to stacking blocks, our kindergarten students were learning by doing. These activities gave them opportunities to practice important skills, share what they know, and build confidence as young mathematicians.
Shapes, numbers, blocks, and plenty of learning—kindergarten is off to a great start!
Teamwork in Action: Can You Solve It?
Our future leaders were putting their teamwork skills to the test as they worked together to solve a variety of puzzles. The activity gave them a chance to practice communication, problem-solving, and collaboration while working toward a shared goal.
Teams had to look closely at each puzzle, share ideas, listen to their teammates, and decide which strategy to try next. When a solution didn't work, they had to regroup, communicate, and come up with another plan. The puzzles weren't just about finding the right answer. Students were learning how to work through challenges together. Each team member had an opportunity to contribute an idea, ask questions, and help move the group forward.
Together, they discovered that successful teamwork takes more than simply having a good idea. It also takes listening, patience, communication, and a willingness to try again. By the end of the activity, students had more than completed a few puzzles. They had practiced skills they can use every day in the classroom and beyond.
