St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 1 | 5 FEBRUARY 2026
Good afternoon parents and caregivers,
Welcome to the 2026 school year and what a wonderful start we’ve had! The first day is always a highlight, and it was such a joy to welcome back our students and families and see so many happy faces. A special welcome to the new families and new staff joining the St Elizabeth’s community, we are delighted to have you with us.
As we settle into the year, a reminder about driving and parking around the school. Please be considerate of our neighbours by keeping driveways clear and following City of Wanneroo parking guidelines. Families in Years Three to Six are encouraged to use the Kiss and Drive to help keep parking available for Early Years parents collecting children from classrooms. Thank you for your support.
A reminder that staff communication hours are guided by the Catholic School Teachers EBA. Staff will respond to emails and Seesaw messages between 7:30am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, and aim to reply within 48 hours. Staff are not expected to respond in the evenings or on weekends, except in urgent situations. Thank you for respecting staff wellbeing and promoting a positive work/life balance.
As we finish our first week, I sincerely thank our staff for their care and dedication in ensuring such a smooth start. Our students have settled beautifully! I look forward to connecting with everyone at our Sunset Social next Friday, February 13 beginning at 4:30pm.
God bless

2026 Term Dates
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
A very warm welcome back to all our families as we begin the 2026 school year. I hope the holiday break provided an opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy special time together. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to working in partnership with you to support your child’s learning and wellbeing.
As we start the year, please ensure you are connected to SeeSaw. Some school messages will be shared through this platform, and it also allows you to view your child’s digital portfolio and celebrate their learning. If you are not yet connected, please speak with your child’s classroom teacher for assistance.
Run Club will continue this year for students in Years 1–6 and will take place in the mornings at 8:15am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Students will be issued a QR code which will need to be kept safe and brought to each session so their laps can be recorded.
At St Elizabeth's, we believe that regular home reading builds confident, capable readers and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. This year, we are excited to introduce 250 Nights of Home Reading, encouraging students to read every night and celebrate their progress along the way. Students will receive a reading log next week to record each night they read with an adult or listen to stories. As they reach key milestones, students will earn small rewards and those who complete 250 nights of reading will be presented with a badge as assembly.
Please also save the date for our Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Wednesday 11th February at 6:00pm. This short meeting will be followed by our Parent Information Night, including important information for Year 6 families regarding the upcoming school camp scheduled for March 9–11.
We look forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, and strong community connections. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on what promises to be a wonderful 2026.
