Husky Howl
April 27, 2026
Huskies,
It was a great week at Huffines as our students continue to learn, grow, and represent the Husky Pack with pride. We are grateful for your continued support at home, it makes a difference each and every day. Here are a few highlights from this past week:
Our talented 7th grade students were honored at the UIL Theatrical Design finalist showcase, where their outstanding creativity, hard work, and dedication were recognized at a high level.
Ms. Rivera engaged students in meaningful Earth Day activities that promoted creativity, environmental awareness, and responsibility for caring for our world.
Ms. Pitchford and Ms. Presley's students enjoyed an exciting field trip to SPARK!, where they explored hands-on creative experiences designed to inspire imagination, build confidence, and encourage future innovation.
We are proud to celebrate Ms. Snider, our math facilitator, for being named LISD’s Learning and Teaching Employee of the Year!
PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION TODAY
Wednesday is our Math STAAR, and it is the final STAAR test of the season. Our students have shown tremendous growth in math this year, and Wednesday is their championship day! I shared with students that STAAR is similar to a championship game in sports. All of their hard work, tutoring, practice, and preparation come together in this moment. We appreciate your support in helping students feel confident, prepared, and ready to do their best. Families can help by reminding students to:
- Stay positive and do their best
- Charge their iPad fully the night before
- Get a good night’s sleep, 8 to 10 hours is recommended
- Arrive at school on time or a little early
- Eat a healthy breakfast
- Read each question carefully and take time to think through each answer
Lastly, to ensure a secure and focused testing environment, Huffines will be a closed campus on Wednesday.
YOU CAN’T HIDE THAT HUSKY PRIDE!

Counselors Corner
In Lewisville ISD, the whole child is at the core of everything we do as a district, including our students' mental, emotional and physical health. With counselors on every campus, LISD knows parents want their children to receive an outstanding education, but more importantly, they want their children to be nurtured and cared for beyond just academics.
LISD provides families with resources to ensure each child receives the support they need to develop every aspect of their being. Please see the topics and linked resources below:
Should you need more information on the above topics or are in need of support for your child in a different area, please reach out to your counselor.

Families would be required to restart their paperwork once the system is back up and running. Share the following blurb in your newsletters in the coming weeks:
Join us at one of our in-person enrollment events where LISD staff will be on hand to walk families step-by-step through the enrollment process and answer any questions along the way.
