MODULES MATTER: PREPARE FOR YOUR TESTS! MODULES MATTER: PREPARE FOR YOUR TESTS!

Throughout the school year, students will complete Module Assessments, which are unit tests developed collaboratively by teams of Florence 1 Schools teachers for each subject area. These assessments are administered district-wide and provide valuable data that helps teachers identify what students have mastered, where additional support may be needed, and how we can continue improving student learning and understanding.

Students can prepare for Module Assessments by reviewing class notes, completing study guides, revisiting assignments and activities, and asking questions about concepts they may not fully understand. A little preparation each day can make a big difference!

📚 Module Assessments scheduled for next week include:

  • 7th Grade Math - Module 4 Test - November 4
  • 7th Grade Social Studies - Unit 3 Test on North America - November 5
Don't forget to study for your tests next week!

HELP 4 KIDS FOOD DRIVE - NOVEMBER 1 - 18, 2026 HELP 4 KIDS FOOD DRIVE - NOVEMBER 1 - 18, 2026

Our Moore Cubs to Lioness mentorship group, in partnership with Student Council, is sponsoring a food drive to benefit Help 4 Kids Florence from November 1–18, 2026!

Help 4 Kids Florence is a local, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting childhood hunger in Florence County. Many children rely on school meals during the week but may not have enough food at home over the weekend. Help 4 Kids works to close this gap by providing bags of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food for students to take home each Friday, ensuring they return to school on Monday nourished and ready to learn.

We are asking our Moore families to help us make a difference! We are collecting:

  • Pop-Tarts

  • Vienna sausages

  • Canned spaghetti, ravioli, and similar pasta meals

Donations may be placed in collection boxes in the cafeteria from November 1–18. Members of Cubs to Lioness and Student Council will also visit classrooms at 8:00 AM to collect donations.

At Moore, we believe excellence extends beyond the classroom and includes serving others! Every donation, big or small, helps fight hunger and supports children right here in our community.

Cubs to Lioness and Student Council are hosting a food drive for Help 4 Kids. Donations can be dropped off between November 1 - 18.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

ARRIVAL TIME:

  • Students should arrive at their bus stop 10–15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

ROUTES AND STOPS:

  • Bus routes are monitored closely and usually run on a consistent schedule. However, delays can occur due to unexpected issues.
  • New bus stops are only added if a student lives more than 0.3 miles from an existing stop.

FOR SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY:

  • Bus stops must be 0.2 miles apart. Nearby stops may be combined unless a safety concern requires otherwise. Bus stops are established only at locations deemed safe for student pickup and drop-off. Students will not be required to cross four-lane roads or highways or be dropped off at locations that present a safety hazard.

PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under South Carolina law (SC Code §§ 59-67-415 and 59-67-245), parents and guardians are responsible for their child’s safety, behavior, and timely arrival at the designated bus stop before pickup, as well as their safe departure after the bus leaves.

PARENTS MUST:

  • REINFORCE safe bus behavior with their child.
  • REPORT: Student misconduct to the school principal. Transportation safety concerns to the Transportation Office.

  • South Carolina law PROHIBITS boarding a school bus without authorization, interfering with its operation, restricting its movement, or threatening or using obscene or profane language toward the driver or passengers. Review Board Policy JICDA Code of Conduct online at f1s.org for additional information.

DOWNLOAD THE MY RIDE K-12 APP

  • This app allows you to view the scheduled pick-up and drop-off times, bus numbers, and the real-time location of the bus once your child’s route begins.

WHAT CAN BE BROUGHT ON THE BUS:

  • Band instruments and other personal items must fit safely in a student’s lap, remain under the student’s control, and not block aisles, seats, or emergency exits. Transportation staff will determine whether an item can be safely transported based on its size, the student’s ability to control it, and the safety of all passengers. Items that create safety hazards or interfere with emergency evacuation are not permitted.

SEVERE WEATHER

  • During inclement weather, some roads may become impassable due to hazardous conditions. The District will make every effort to contact parents and guardians in affected areas. Buses cannot leave their regular routes. However, students who live along the route may qualify for additional stops.

NAVIGATE360: A NEW VISITOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM NAVIGATE360: A NEW VISITOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

For the 2026-2027 school year, we will be using Navigate 360, a visitor management system, to enhance security and streamline the student sign-in and sign-out process. Beginning in the upcoming school year, anyone signing students in or out during the school day must present a valid photo ID. Extended Day will also require a valid photo ID to be presented to staff at student pickup.

Accepted forms of ID:

  • Driver’s license

  • State-issued ID

  • Passport

How will the system work?

  1. When arriving at the school, ring the doorbell as you normally would.

  2. Once inside the building, use the Navigate 360 Self-Serve Kiosk to select your reason for visiting the school and scan your photo ID.

  3. Before a student is released, Navigate360 will confirm that the person signing the student out is listed in PowerSchool as having pickup authorization. The front office staff will then complete the sign-in or sign-out process.

Need to make changes to PowerSchool information, including pickup authorization?
Parents or guardians requesting changes to student information in PowerSchool must present a government-issued ID, complete and sign a form at the school. After ID verification, front office staff will process the requested updates. Changes involving guardianship, custody, or other restrictions will continue to require the appropriate supporting documentation.

Find an introduction video on the Florence 1 Schools website: https://florence1schools.link/DgSEjrS
