ENGAGED COMMUNITY
Principal's Message
Dear Ross Glen Families,
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Family Science Olympics Night! It was wonderful to see our school buzzing with curiosity, collaboration, and fun. Events like this truly highlight the strong partnership between home and school. We appreciate your support so much!
The science excitement continues as we prepare for the Ross Glen Science Fair on Monday, March 9th. We invite you to stop by in the morning to connect with our young scientists. They are eager to share their projects, explain what they've learned, and showcase the hard work they’ve put into their investigations. We are always so impressed by their thinking, creativity, and growth.
A reminder that Student Conferences will take place on Wednesday, March 18th, and Thursday, March 19th, from 3:00–6:00 pm. You will receive an Edsby message inviting you to schedule your interview time. We look forward to connecting and continuing our shared work in supporting student learning and success.
Take care,
Natosha

Apple School
What is an Apple School?
As an Apple School, we strive to build a healthy school community focusing on improving students' mental health, physical activity, and eating habits for life.
March's Campaign
March's campaign is Way to Go H2O, and students will learn the importance of drinking water.
Here is a summary of the learnings:
What’s so great about water?
Your body is comprised of 60% water.
Water maintains your body’s fluid balance and body temperature at a healthy level, and helps you digest food.
Drinking water regularly throughout the day is the best way to avoid dehydration, and headaches caused by dehydration.
How much should we be drinking?
4-8 year old children should drink 5 cups of water daily.
9-13 year old children should drink 6.5-7 cups of water daily.
Adult men should drink 12 cups, and adult women should drink 9 cups of water daily.
What are some strategies to increase water intake?
- Drink a glass of water when you wake up each morning, and one an hour before bed.
- Carry a water bottle with you throughout the day.
- Drink a cup of water with every meal if you feel thirsty.
- Add some flavours to water by adding strawberries, lemons, limes, and raspberries. Or try a combo like cucumber with mint or strawberries with basil.

Athletic Academy
Our student athletes have been putting in the work during their recent sessions at Gas City Crossfit! From learning new techniques to challenging themselves in new ways, they have embraced every opportunity with dedication, focus, and a positive attitude.
We are so proud of how willing our athletes are to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and continue growing both physically and mentally.
A huge thank you to the incredible trainers at Gas City Crossfit for welcoming our students, sharing their expertise, and creating such a motivating environment for them to train in. We appreciate their partnership and support!
February's Exemplary Students
Throughout the year, we celebrate students who go above and beyond in demonstrating our school’s core values of Wonder, Connect, and Thrive. For February, we are proud to recognize our Exemplary Students, who have shown us what it means to live out these values every day.
Wonder – These students approach their learning with curiosity and excitement. They ask thoughtful questions, explore new ideas, and show a genuine love for discovering the world around them.
Connect – They build strong realationships by showing kindness, respect, and empathy. Whether working with classmates, helping a peer in need, or showing appreciation for staff, they remind us of the importance of caring for one another.
Thrive – These students demonstrate resilience and a positive mindset. They take on challenges with determination, celebrate growth, and set a wonderful example of what it looks like to be the best version of themselves.
We are so proud of February's Exemplary Students and the way they inspire our school community. Congratulations to each of you for modeling what it means to Wonder, Connect, and Thrive!
Patroller of the month for February
Congratulations to Ella for winning Patroller of the month for February. She consistently displays the traits expected of a patroller.
