Waukazoo Elementary Newsletter
December 5, 2025
Principals Report:
Dear Waukazoo Families,
In December at Waukazoo we are always excited to celebrate our favorite traditions! One of our traditions begins next Monday with the Winter Workshop. All of our students will be creating small crafts for gifts this holiday season. We are so thankful to our PTA volunteers who plan the event and also volunteer next week to help students create the gifts. They have some exciting crafts to share and we can't wait to see how they turn out.
Our students have been working hard to earn pom poms as they make respectful, responsible, and ready to learn choices. Students have earned a PJ day, popsicles for all students, and we just earned our next reward- BRING YOUR BIGGEST STUFFIE TO SCHOOL DAY! We will celebrate during our Spirit Week so we can pair it with PJ day for some extra fun. Spirit Week in December will be the 15th-19th! We hope the days planned make it easy for all students to participate. See the fun days below:
- Monday the 15th- Bring your biggest stuffie and Pajama Day
- Tuesday the 16th- Home team Day (Wear sports or athletic wear)
- Wednesday the 17th- Traditions Day
- Thursday the 18th- Holiday Headwear Day
- Friday the 19th- Holiday Sweater Day
We have many class parties planned this month! If you are volunteering at a party (or other event this month), please make sure you have completed your volunteer profile. We will not allow adults into the school building who are not approved. This form must be completed EACH school year and at least two weeks ahead of when you plan to volunteer.
With winter arriving early, parent pick up has been a little slow going. Please do what you can to keep the line moving quickly and efficiently, while still keeping safety in mind. It is important to use only the crosswalk to cross the front parking lot during pick up for safety- we know it is cold, but this rule keeps all our kids and drivers safe.
Please see the PTA updates in this week's newsletter for important events coming up in January.
Have a great weekend, and Go WO!

PBIS Student Climate Survey:
As part of our ongoing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) work, students will participate in our annual school climate survey. We’ve administered this brief survey for several years as a way to better understand how students feel about school, safety, relationships, and support. The survey is anonymous, age-appropriate, and not tied to individual students. Questions include prompts such as “I feel safe at school,” “Teachers treat me with respect,” and “Good behavior is noticed at my school,” with response options ranging from Never to Always.

Families may choose to opt their child out of the survey, and parents are welcome to preview the survey before it is given. If you would like to review the questions or opt out, please contact your school office.
