Counselor's Corner

As April approaches and (hopefully) brings nicer weather, I just wanted to take some time to share some resources with families that can aid in addressing a variety of concerns. Visit the links below to see resources regarding Social-Emotional Learning, parenting resources, mental health concerns, as well as substance use concerns. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Preschool and Kindergarten 2022-2023 School Year

If you have a student you would like to enroll in preschool, kindergarten, or any other grade please call the school to have the students put on the waiting list.

We have waiting lists available for future school years too if you would like to put students on ahead of time to receive better chances at a spot in preschool.

*Students must be 4 by July 31st to be eligible for preschool and 5 by July 31st to be eligible for kindergarten.

❄️ Snow Gear ❄️

Please make sure students have their snow gear readily available as our ND weather can be very unpredictable. The playground is still quite wet with some snow remaining and they are still required to wear it.

State Testing

The month of April is when 3-8 graders will be state testing in the subjects of reading, writing, and math. Students will test every Wednesday. Makeup tests will be done on Thursdays and Fridays. Please make sure your student is present so they do not miss out on class time to do the makeup tests.

Some tips for success include-

  • Making sure your child is well rested
  • Ensuring students eat an adequate breakfast
  • Not putting too much pressure on your child- they need to just try their best!

Family Volunteers

If you want to get more involved in the school and volunteer for some opportunities please call MacKenzie Moen to see what opportunities await you! Some of these opportunities include being involved on committees, helping in the classroom, attending field trips, prep work for teachers, etc. Family engagement is essential to student success. We enjoy partnering with our families and thank all of the family members who have volunteered and will continue to do so in the future.

Student of the Month

Each grade level will be eligible to receive student of the month.

They will be recognized on the school website and FB page as well as receive a small reward for their accomplishment.

Student engagement staff will look for when nominating a student of the month:

  • Good Attendance!
  • Completion of Work!
  • Collaborates well with peers and staff!
  • Follows school expectations!
