October 2026 Newsletter
A Note From Mrs. Johnson & Mrs. Knight
Dear Lindbergh Families,
What a wonderful start to the 26-27 school year we have had! It was so great to see so many of you at Supply Drop Off and Open House. Thank you for coming out to meet your child's teacher and help us kick off the year together. As students have been settling into their classrooms, we have also been busy practicing how to stay safe. Students have done a great job during our fire drills, and we will soon begin our fall lockdown drills. Teachers are preparing students in calm, age-appropriate ways so they know what to do and feel confident.
As we head into October, please remember that every day matters. Each day at school helps your child learn, grow, and feel connected to our Lindbergh community.
Thank you for your continued support and for the trust you place in us every day. October is a busy month! Please see below for important information on School Picture Day, Family Fitness events, Fall Fest, and our annual Halloween Parade. We look forward to a great fall together!
Sincerely,
Lindsey Johnson & Bree Knight
A Spirited Start to the School Year
We welcomed the new school year with an awesome whole-school pep rally! Students cheered, celebrated, and showed off their Lindbergh pride. It was the perfect way to kick off a year of learning and growing together. Lindbergh Leaders are ready to soar!
Picture Day
Picture Day is 10/07/2026, mark your calendar! Order before Picture Day to receive free shipping to the school. Ordering online is easy, visit https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/0565HKF Code: 0565HKF.
International Dot Day
In Mrs. Buchlis' Art room, students read “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds for International Dot Day, which was September 15th. Every grade level created artwork that incorporated Dots! Kindergarten did dot collages, first grade did dot-shaped pattern drawings, second grade did Alma Thomas inspired mosaics, third grade did positive and negative space dots, and fourth grade did Yayoi Kusama inspired dot pumpkins.
Dot Day is all about creativity, courage, and confidence. It reminds them that everyone has a unique gift to share, and that even the biggest journeys begin with one small, brave step. We are encouraging all our students to believe in their own potential and discover how they can make their mark on the world!
Social Emotional Learning
Welcome back to school families! We hope your child is excited to start a new school year. The beginning of the year is all about community building and learning about each other. The month of October is also Bullying Prevention & How To Be An Upstander. Attached is a fun activity you can do with your family. If you do not have dice at home you can ask your child/family member to pick a number 1-6 and then answer the question. I hope you enjoy getting to know what they are learning and are excited to learn this year!
= Share what you are excited to learn or do this school year.
= Tell about a new friend you made in your classroom.
= Why is it important to be kind to your friends/classmates?
= If someone is being unkind to you or a friend, what can you do to be an “Upstander?”
= How can you be an upstander in your classroom or out on the playground?
= Who are your trusted adults in school and at home?

Students are excited to be back in the library to borrow books! We started the year by talking about taking good care of our library books. Please help the children to return the books on time, keep them away from food and drink, and watch out for water bottles that leak in their backpacks. Happy reading!!
