Presenter: Greg Beston

Chris Beston entered his Sophomore year pre-season camp as a goalie for Coach Steve Shoff's Weymouth Boys Soccer Team but due to a stockpile of talented keepers, was moved to Forward. Playing mainly in reserve that season, the Wildcats went on to the State Semi-finals losing to St. Johns Prep. In his Junior season Beston became a regular starter and contributor on a talented Wildcats squad and scored 25 goals and tallied 9 assists. The Wildcats (again) couldn't make it past the State Semifinals where they lost 1-0 to Somerville. Beston was named Eastern Mass All-Star and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic during his Junior campaign.

Beston was named tri-Captain for his Senior season and was the Wildcat's leading scorer with 29 goals and 12 Assists. Coach Shoff's Wildcats were able to avenge 3 consecutive losses in the State Semifinals by beating St. John's Prep 2-1 and then defeated Springfield Cathedral in the State Championship match 1-0. The Wildcats finished the season ranked #9 in the U.S. Beston became the first player in program history to be named to the All-American team. In addition, Beston was named All-New England, Gatorade and Boston Globe Massachusetts Player of the Year, Eastern Mass. All-Star and was a Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic. Over his career Beston tallied 60 goals and 15 assists.

Beston went on to play Division 1 soccer at Northeastern University where he was a 4-year starter and 2-year Captain. He helped lead the Huskies to 3 straight 10-win seasons and conference playoff births. Switching from Forward to Defense in college, he finished his career with 10 career goals and 3 Assists, Beston got his MBA from the University of Southern California and now resides in Hingham with his wife Katie and their 3 children Charlotte (7), Harrison (5) and Oliver (1).
