Superintendent Presents Reorganization Proposal

The Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s Instructional and Wraparound Services Support Reorganizational Plan. This plan has been created to improve the level of services and support to classroom teachers and school leaders in addition to providing exceptional family and caregiver wraparound support to drive continuous improvement in student learning.

The next step is for the plan to be presented to the Licensed Personnel Policies Committee and the Classified Personnel Policies Committee for ten days.

Board Approves Dolly Parton Imagination Library Partnership

The Board of Education approved the Arkansas Imagination Library Partnership, which is part of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. This partnership promotes a culture of reading among children in underserved communities, and children between the ages of 0-5 who live in our school zone will receive a book in the mail each month free of charge.

The district will provide an annual contribution of $31,824 for this initiative.

Solar Eclipse Update

Dr. Amber Harbin, the Coordinator of Science, Environmental Literacy, Outdoor Education, and Advanced Programs, shared information about the solar eclipse and the activities that have occurred to mark this event.

District Budget

Mr. Brian Brown, the Chief Financial Officer, presented the Board of Education with an overview of the budget for this school year. Taking a look at this year's budget allows the district to make financial decisions and projections for the next school year.

Regular Board Meeting

All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and are held in the Boardroom in the Administration Building, located at 2400 Willow Street. They are open to the public.
