End of Year Celebration!
The TVMSC End of Year Celebration is for ALL students on Thursday, May 21st. We honor students from all cohorts with academic awards from 8:00 to 9:00 and from 12:00 to 1:00, and then we celebrate our last day with games and activities. We do this each year on our last day.
Seniors get a special, custom made award, so those parents are invited to attend the assembly. We send a lot of pictures home of the event and awards, so all parents will receive pictures. This is just a fun day to wrap up our year and celebrate a year of really hard work on the part of our staff and students alike! Students are asked to contribute $5.00 for treats for that day.
Congratulations Seniors!
The staff at TVMSC want you to know that we loved having you as students and we wish you the best in you future endeavors! What an exciting time for you, enjoy your summer and have a blast on whatever college campus you find yourself on!

Summit Education: 2026 Summer Programs
Summit Education organizes virtual summer programs for high-achieving students interested in STEM fields. In 2026, students have the opportunity to apply to the following programs:
- Summit STEM Fellowship (SSF): SSF helps students explore diverse STEM fields and career pathways while learning from 50+ mentors from Harvard, Stanford, and MIT and building core life skills. The fellowship is a flexible 10–15 hour per week commitment, allowing students to participate alongside other summer activities.
- Summit Research Scholars (SRS): SRS equips students with the tools to conduct original research, covering essential research methods and technical skills. At the end of the program, students complete a Research Capstone and practice applying their skills to solve real-world problems.
Applications for Summer 2026 programs have recently opened. Admissions are rolling, and students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. To apply, please visit www.summiteducation.org.

Boise State Literacy Lab Tutoring
Tutors are undergraduate students in pursuit of obtaining their elementary teaching credential upon graduation.
Tutoring takes place from 4:30pm-5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays via Zoom.
Any students in grades K-12 can receive tutoring, and the cost is $175 per child.
We also offer payment plans and some scholarships. Please let us know if you have families that would like to participate and require scholarship or payment plan assistance.
At the beginning of the semester, tutors conduct literacy assessments to determine learning goals for the semester.
Then they plan lessons in reading, writing, and word study to support their student(s) with working toward their goals.
At the end of the semester, they write a report to share with the parents about the assessments, the tutoring sessions, and any progress made by the child throughout tutoring.

NASA TechRise Student Challenge
The NASA TechRise Student Challenge invites teams of 6th-12th graders attending U.S. public, private, or charter schools – including those in U.S. territories – to submit science and technology experiment ideas to fly on a suborbital vehicle: https://www.futureengineers.org/nasatechrise
Sixty winning teams will be selected, with a goal of at least one school from each of the 50 states and U.S. territories. Each team will receive $1,500 to build their payloads and an assigned spot on a NASA-sponsored commercial flight test: either Virgin Galactic’s Suborbital-Spaceship or a high-altitude balloon operated by World View Enterprises.
No experience is necessary to join the NASA TechRise Challenge! Teams receive technical support from advisors who help students learn the skills they need to bring their experiment to life as a payload on a suborbital vehicle.
Please share this opportunity with the schools in your district. TechRise is an incredible opportunity for students to get hands-on, real-world experience with the same process professional researchers follow. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us spread the word about this challenge as we would love to receive more submissions from Idaho. You can direct the teachers and mentors in your district to either https://conta.cc/42O2WG5 or https://www.futureengineers.org/nasatechrise.
If you have any questions, we invite you to reach out to Future Engineers, the challenge administrator: support@futureengineers.org.
Please include the afrc-flight-opportunities-comms@mail.nasa.gov address in your reply.
